Casa Mateo

This is an excellent property in terms of facilities. It does need a refresh to fix things like door locks not working and some things looking a bit worn but not a deal breaker. Staff were great and we particularly appreciated the efforts of our chef. The night guard was often missing in action but this was fixed by raising our concerns. We came to Bali to relax. This was significantly hampered by the efforts of the occupants of the adjacent villa, Casa Hannah. Some groups feel great level of self entitlement and selfishness that they will party late into the evening, or will decide to play loud hip-hop music at 5 am and wake up the entire neighbourhood. We thought that the family connections in the ownership between our villa and next door would help smooth over an appropriate resolution. The group next door repeatedly ignored requests and the management of Villa Hannah essentially washed their hands of it and said that they had done all that they could do. This obviously is not the case and had they cared enough about the comfort of neighbours, they should have evicted the group. Our otherwise perfect holiday was ruined by the group next door and the failure of their management to act appropriately. Following my return home I advised Casa Mateo management of our experience in the early hours of our departure day and their failure to acknowledge or reply was disappointing. Had it been an email about payment or booking interest, a reply would be almost immediate. When things go well, things are great, but the test of any management is how they respond to situations when things don’t go so well. Right now we feel a bit ignored.

We stayed at Casa Mateo 6 years ago, and then again last month. The villa location is amazing - so easy to walk to restaurants, good coffee spots, bars and day spas. Plus, a $2-3 taxi will get you where you need to be if you can't be bothered walking. The staff at Casa Mateo are second to none. They are attentive, helpful, and keep the villa looking immaculate very quietly. Highly recommend dining in a few times as the food is amazing. We had the Asian BBQ and a few breakfasts. If you're in a group there are a few different areas for people to recharge so if you need some time to yourself, but not hidden in your room, Casa Mateo is a great choice. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are luxurious.

We were in Casa Mateo Villa from 7th Dec until 11th Dec 2017 in 6 bedrooms with all the family, to celebrate our legal wedding day (between indonesian girlfriend and spanish boyfriend). Im really happy to take the decision of celebrate this important day with them. Nurtini (one of the staffs in the villa) was our “Wedding Organizer”. All our questions were answered by her and she makes all really easy for us. She found a nice place for our prewedding photos, and also she lent us balinese customes. She offered us a photographer, photo frames, wedding cake, decoration and wedding band with our requirements. But the most important is that all documents were quickly legalized. She also offered us the possibility of increasing the variety of food during dinner (the wedding day), without additional charge, because part of the family could not eat pork. Thanks to all the staffs in the villa, because they keep always the villa really clean, and they help us with all. (Until 11pm they were working in there). Im sure that when I come back to Bali for holidays, I will book with them. Thanks again to all the team🙏🏻🙏🏻
