Under new management the garden is beautiful, smimmingpool is well kept. Rooms are o.k, bathrooms need some renovation though. A very nice place, a bit away from the busy ans touristic area LOvina. Very nice to feel the real North - Bali. Beach and simple Warugs to eat on walking distance. approx 10 minutes. 15 mintes walk to Krisna Funtastic land (amusement, shops and great food) Nice spot for the tourist who like to explore Bali by himself. Recommended.

So we booked into the 'Eco Lodge' before heading up to Lovina (a really nice area of Bali by the way) and ended up really disappointed.
What we found was a place that basically did not offer what it said it did on both its own web site as well as the booking websites.
-WiFi? Didn't work once over four days.
-Pool? Wasn't 'ready' until halfway through our stay
-The great breakfast that some people mention in their reviews? A single hardboiled egg and a piece of toast, something 8 dollar hostels in Bali are able to beat.
-There was no restaurant on site and no drinks sold. There were no scooters there to rent (and you'll need one because it is far away from town) and the dolphin watching tickets they offer for 7 dollars on their website suddenly became 150000 rupiah when I asked.
When any of these contradictions was pointed out I just got a shrug. The staff, though pleasant, wasn't remotely concerned.
The basic facilities are decent (aside from our front door not really closing). The beds are good and the garden area that the rooms face is pretty. But for those expecting this place to be out in the jungle, it isnt. Nor is it particularly quiet. The day we arrived a hundred or so guys were watching a cock fight across the street.
My advice would be stay somewhere closer to the towns that make up the Lovina strip. This isnt Kuta or Ubud and its much easier to find a chill spot without going so far afield.
This place sounds like it was a gem based on the reviews I read here but I'm sorry to say that it is definitely not the case anymore. Do yourself a favor and go to Lovina though. Really liked it.

We spent three days and two nights at this hotel. The room was EXCELLENT, the beds were great. There was one other couple there at the time so we had the pool to ourselves. The staff will go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. We came back late from snorkeling after the kitchen was closed and the staff went down to a local fish seller and purchased two grilled fish and they served it with rice and steamed vegetables. They are top notch for customer service. When we got there we had lots of laundry and they sent the laundry to a local laundry and the clothes are came back the next day pressed and clean for a very cheap price. The staff also arranged our transportation to Tulamben for us at an excellent rate.
I highly recommend this location and the next time I go to Bali I will stay there.
