Nomad's Villa

Popular choice by the looks of it on Air BNB - but don't bother. You're paying more because it's a two-bedroom Villa with a private pool, but in reality - you're still a 30 minute walk from the beach, 15 minutes from the main shopping areas in Seminyak - an basically, you'll need to be prepared to walk everywhere constantly, or grab a scooter to get around more easily in the heat. Villa Nomad doesn't offer breakfast, so that's another cost you'll have to endure. Also keep in mind because this is a private, local property (not a hotel or resort) the water coming out of the taps to wash with is the local water - therefor, it stinks! As gross as it sounds, I resorted to morning and evening dips in the pool - I was more happy to smell of light chlorine than sewer water! We stayed for 10 days over Xmas and NYE and were disappointed. For the price we paid, we experienced too many inconveniences such as being locked out on Christmas Night, and being left waiting in the streets for hours. The supplied 10ltr water dispenser made us sick - we later found out because the filter hadn't been cleaned in god know's how long, leaving it to be infested with maggots and ants. The pool was lovely, the beds were too firm (may as well have slept on concrete!) and the pillows almost non existent they were that thin. I'm a frequent traveler to Bali, but I won't be utilizing this Air BNB property in future. I really wanted to explore more of the local area, but - on this instance, it didn't work out.
