Pendawa Bali

I spent about a week in this hotel and was very happy with my stay. The location is brilliant as it is so close to everything you need. It is at the end of a nice quiet lane which is off a busy street, yet you don't hear any of the traffic from the hotel. All the shops you want are just round the corner including cashpoints. The beaches are all within walking distance too. There is a beautiful tropical garden around the pool, it's a little haven of peace and greenery. It was well maintained and everything was swept clean everyday. I had a nice room on the first floor with a good balcony. My room was very clean although I guess the balcony floor could have done with a scrub but it didn't bother me much. The bed was very comfortable, I had a spacious wardrobe with a safebox, a nice desk with a kettle and tray with teabags, etc... I had bedside tables with lamps. I found that mine wasn't working but when I mentioned this to a member of staff, this was dealt with and then there was light! My room was regularly cleaned, towels and bedding changed over without prompting and I was provided with toiletries on a regular basis. I was also given bottles of water virtually everyday. The bathroom was very clean too, the shower was nice and hot and worked very well. At first, I wanted a room overlooking the pool and this wasn't available. However, the very next day, I was offered one facing the pool but I decided that I was happy with my room after all. No view as such but it was lovely and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and always tried to accommodate my wishes. Breakfast was fine too, again, the staff tries to provide what you want to eat. I found it extremely easy to order taxis (usually scooters). They often arrived within two minutes or ordering one and I often had to rush to get ready! On the day of leaving for the airport, taxi ordering (car) turned out to be tricky as it was rush hour and they were very busy; again a member of staff ended up ordering one himself and spoke to the driver to make sure everything went smoothly. He helped wih the luggage too. So what more could you want? By the way, the airport is really close, which is another advantage but the roads can get really busy so best to order ahead of time. All in all I have nothing to complain about, I had a very pleasant relaxing stay, everything was practical and the members of staff were friendly, smiley and helpful.

The check-in was not very welcoming and we did not get any help with our bags. The room had 2 single beds and the were made with sheets that werent really dry, it had a funny smell and was not clean. Lots of hair in bathtub, the lampswitches were disgusting and there were cracks in the walls. The pool and garden looked very nice but then we saw that every tree had lots of coconuts that were falling all the time wo we were lucky to not get one in the head and the poolwater was really nasty, you could not see the bottom or even your hand if it was under water cause it was so dirty. The breakfast was ok with toast, fresh fruit and cereals. The ony really good thing was the location, just a quick walk to the beach, big mall and restaurants. I would not choose this hotel again

Although we only payed $33 we were utterly disgusted. There was mould on all the tiles in the bathroom and mould on the roof. Rust on the bottom of the bath, dirty towels and extremely slippery dirty floors. I am sure this place was spectacular back in its day, but its past its use by and in serious need of a make over.. I will not be returning!!
