Puri Madawi

This was a great hotel with a vintage groovy 1960's style and feel.. tiki rice barn thatched roofs, home cooked breakfast, and all...with a great location.. I had an amazing stay there. Now to the today. Sadly the hotel has been demolished and is no longer there. It closed and was demolished last year (in 2023). I discovered this when I was looking for hotels for a recent trip, and notice some shady sites are still listed the hotel and taking bookings. As you can see in my photos or from Google Street view, it is permanently closed and now demolished and an empty lot.

Puri is a very charming gem in Bali. I was very happy with my choice of accommodations when i came to Bali. For the price, it's very hard to find something 5-star and this is definitely it. It's hard to find service that's fast and very friendly and this place had both. I can't thank them enough for how they treated us.

After scouring online through countless hotels in Seminyak, I was pleased to come across this little gem. Initially I was a bit sceptical of the location upon arrival, as it seemed "off the beaten track", however that all changed immediately after checking in & having a wonder around the area. When we checked in we were greeted with extremely friendly staff who could speak and understand English very well & the grounds were lush and well cared for. We checked into our room which was very clean & tidy. After booking online I had advised that the arrival day was my travelling companions birthday & asked if they could do a little something extra special for arrival. The staff had strewn fresh flowers from the entrance to the bedroom & beautifully decorated the bed with a lovely birthday message & some Balinese coffee for us to have- all at no extra cost! The location is a 3 minute walk to the beach & all of the food & drinks during our stay were fresh & delicious. The alcoholic beverages were a bit on the pricey side, however given they are located slightly away from the main district & a smaller resort, that's understandable.
