Puri Purnama Villa

We stayed for 5 nights at this villa as part of a three location stay in Bali for my dad’s 80th birthday. We had the whole villa with family from England, Australia and New Zealand all meeting there. It was great to have the whole villa and I don’t think I’d have enjoyed it so much if I was just a guest staying in a room. Dewa picked us up from the airport in 2 minibuses and he popped in every day to see where we wanted to go and arrange transport, massages, food etc... He was happy to take us to a supermarket to stock up on drinks for the villa - no pressure to let the villa staff provide us. Manis provided breakfast and lunch every day and was always around to help if we needed more towels or anything. We ate an evening meal once, but preferred to go out and explore restaurants. The rooms in the main building are superb with lovely large bathrooms and very comfy beds. The pool suites aren’t so nice, although I believe they are being refurbished. The rest of the villa is gorgeous. Great open terrace for massages and gathering at night upstairs. Plus a big gathering space inside. The pool can’t be beaten, with a great location right in front of the beach and a decent size with plenty of space for sun beds and a shaded seating area. The steep uneven stairs between the pool and beach can be a problem, but I believe that will be resolved with the refurbishment. If you don’t take advantage of having Dewa drive you places, there isn’t much to do within walking distance. You can walk along the beach to some local warungs, but they are catered for locals and don’t have english menus or plush seating! This was the perfect starting point for our holiday. A chance to spend quality time together and catch up in great surroundings and attentive staff.

I have been fortunate to visit Villa Puri Purnama on my last three visits to Bali. I go there to relax, recuperate and enjoy the best Bali has to offer. I stay there to enjoy been away from the crowds and been with nature, myself and the beauty of Bali by the Sea. Even though it is only about 25 minutes from Sanur it feels like a world away. The rooms are Incredible, I have stayed in two different rooms and they were both amazing. well thought out, huge and well equipped with everything you can think of for comfort, entertainment, and business. The staff are amazing and will cook you a feast, drive you where you want to go and look after every need. It has an amazing large pool between the Villa and the ocean with incredible views, and the calming sound of the waves meeting the beach. The sunrise is so pictures and Invites you to go for a walk along the path by the beach. You will see Nusa Lembongan just in front and Mount Agung to the South as the sun gets up and the locals going fishing in their traditional boats with outriggers. If you want a place that is out of the Bali grind, where you or you and a partner can escape and enjoy I highly recommend Villa Puri Purnama.

I remember staying here 10 years ago and it is everything I remember the lovely staff, who remembered us. Our room on the top floor was very comfortable fresh and clean each day. Meals we ordered didn’t disappoint, my waistline might when I return home. The banana fritters deadly! A swim each day in the quietude of the morning. To listen to birds singing and the waves lapping the shore. Quieter than the hustle of the west coast which I prefer, and close to marine park and places like Ubud, and Gianyar night market quite a traditional market. Dewa our driver is very informative and always happy to drive us to magical places. I don’t think I can wait another 10 years to return, I forgot what I was missing out on. Thank you, Putu, Manis, Ketut, and not to forget Wayan, Nyoman, and Denik. Everyone contributed to a peaceful relaxing stay. PS don’t forget to have a massage or two. Nothing is too much trouble here.
