Garden View Cottage Ubud

Great location, but the room smells like mold. When I arrived, the air conditioner was on full blast - freezing! I asked the staff why, they said it was to keep it dry so it wouldn't be so moldy. They suggested opening the windows (there are monkeys that walk by during the day and night, so that's not a safe approach. I woke up with a sore throat and headache. I talked to the staff at the front desk, they showed me other rooms. Same issue. Strong moldy smell in the air. These are old buildings and it's apparently very common. I reported the issue to the front desk, they said they would process my refund. Later, I got an e-mail denying the refund, saying simply it is non-refundable. Insane. I would NEVER STAY HERE again.

Nice big rooms, comfy bed and good bathroom / shower, very clean. It was quiet, although reception rang in the middle of the night to see whether we was making noise, no was asleep until they disturbed me, it was some woman on the phone at 2:30am outside. The garden are nice, pool is good, nice koi ponds. Breakfast is basic but edible. Close to some nice restaurants, can highly recommend Laka Leke Restaurant (out of the hotel, turn right just down the road on the right). Also a must ask at reception to go to the Periuk Bali Cooking Class - definite value for money

The bed had bedbugs, next morning got another room but no money back. Helped but a refund could not.
