The Kampung Ubud Villa

Location was good as you can easily get a grab taxi to places like the rice terraces and Ubud centre. It has a lovely atmosphere on arrival, beautiful entrance way and when you first walk into the villa it's impressive. The outside space is large enough, a good size pool and two loungers on the deck which get the sun. The room is spacious, comfortable large bed with plenty of room to open out your luggage without it being in the way. The bathroom has a rainfall shower, separate bath and double sinks. In terms of value for money, when comparing it to hotel prices in Europe it was excellent for the space and facilities. There were a few issues with the villa. These didn't spoil our stay but did let it down which is why I haven't given it four stars. The outside area and pool were very clean. The room was cleaned each day and the towels were replaced. The bathroom was also very clean. We arrived late on the first evening and noticed the bed sheets were very stained. There were quite a few red/brown stains on the white bedsheets. They could have been blood? When we went to use the shower in the morning the handle fell off. The plug got stuck in one of the bathroom sinks and wouldn't drain, but we eventually got it out. The sliding doors locked but you could slide the door completely to one side creating a gap someone could easily get through. We reported the bed sheets and door to reception when we left for the day. They changed the bedding right away and had someone fix the door. However, the door could still be opened when locked and the sheets whilst they had no brown stains on still had patches of off white/yellow on them. They smelled freshly washed but it was just a bit off putting sleeping on what appeared to be stained linen. When showering there was enough hot water for one person to have a brief shower and then no more. Fortunately it's hot in Bali in August so this wasn't a problem! There is a safe in the wardrobe but not hangers. The safe isn't boltes down so if you filled it with valuables and the villa broken into they can easily take it. These didn't spoil our visit but if these maintenance points were addressed the villas would be perfect, maybe even 5 stars. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. They had a wide variety of breakfast options and these were brought to your villa each morning at a time of your choosing. If you read in other reviews about cockerels there is one near by it crowed once or twice on a morning but wasn't an issue, it was a very quiet spot with no traffic noise.

Everything about this was incredible. We loved it so much. It was so clean and in really good condition we enjoyed a floating breakfast in the pool on our first morning which I would recommend. The food room service is very cheap and that's really handy if you just need something to eat before heading out. The service of staff was fantastic. I would recommend this villa to anybody. It was exactly as the pictures. We were particularly happy with all the help from Puta Puta and Mirna who sorted everything we needed out from the start from spa visits to scooter rentals to taxis. They even arranged a trip to Gili Islands for us and we did not have to do a thing :) thank you so much Kampung Ubud Villas we will be back if we return to Bali!!!

Very cute, quiet villa in the middle of the jungle with caring personal. They also offer some spa treatments and yoga lessons directly at your villa. They even went out to get me some specific items at the market. Although it is not central, it was great to stay there for a few days.
