Garuda Plaza Hotel

We had 2 nights in the hotel, at the starting point of our holiday and the night before we flew to Java. Sadly the hotel has seen better days and needs a complete refurb. The first room we had was big and overlooked the pool but was dirty and very shabby. The shower was poor and I was reluctant to use it, and when I did there was not hot water. Breakfast was a nightmare. The hotel was VERY busy and it was impossible to find a table, and when we finally managed to find a table to share with someone else the food was most substandard with hardly anything available. People were eating breakfast around the pool area and the floor was covered in spilt food which had then been walked on. On our second visit we were in a room overlooking the street. Again the room was just grubby and needed updating. I was however excited to see the room had a bath, until I looked at it and it was so badly tarnished I would not use it, disgusting. Breakfast was the same as before, and I was most thankful that I was only here for the two rather nasty nights. The only plus comment I have is that every member of staff we came into contact with where friendly and helpful and made us feel most welcome.

We arrived from the airport straight into the hotel, the bedsheets had stains on them and did not appear very clean. The room had a weird smell in it. The toilet paper was running out already when we checked in. We asked for the WiFi password which was scarcely working and only on 2 devices... So overall great location, close to the mosque and the palace but that’s it.

The hotel has a hot shower, free television and air conditioning. The buffet for breakfast provides western and indonesian food. The rooms had been ok, but everything, furniture anf bathroom has been a bit old and could use a renovation.
