Bintan Agro Beach Resort & Spa

Staying in a jacuzzi resort. Very pleasant, very spacious room with sea views. Perfect for staying here with a couple or family. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was good. Superbetah has to come here

This place is not for you if you are not from mainland China, definitely not for the picky ones. The place is full of PRC guests, i did not find anything annoying about that except for guests smoking everywhere without much regard for others. The good/acceptable points of this place - #1 Excellent Staff, friendly and helpful. If some of them could speak a little better english would have been better. #2 Room - is clean and acceptable. It has mostly all of basic amenities one would expect. It is not luxurious, not very tastefully designed or arranged. #3 Transportation - there is an acceptable amount of transportation facilities available both free and paid. #4. There is not much of a beach(sand), but when the tide is up, there is almost half a kilometre of water upfront that is like 1 meter deep, you can walk out all the way. #5 Beautiful view and some good photo ops if you walk down the half a km long platform they have built in to the sea. #6 Small shop that sells basic amenities, no bread and jam, nor any bananas, ie if you dint want to go out or eat at the ir restaurant. Food is barely acceptable. Choices are very minimal. The breakfast menu is very limited though they offer some additional menu to non Chinese guests. Worst of all, the breakfast buffet is not attended properly. The food served is left open to flies and birds! I am not ver picky, but this i felt was gross!!!. Most of the guests dint seem to care though. The second day we found out about a free shuttle(to and fro) to a property 5 mins from Agro called Bintan Spa Villa that has a better, cleaner restaurant with a much wider choice on their menu, some Indian as well(frozen chappathi - whatever). Their seafood restaurant is ok, food is also ok. We may not have enjoyed it so much but it did not make us sick either. The PRC guests seemed to be at home pretty much. The bad #1 The entire property itself is very poorly maintained(except for inside te room), very average looking reception, kids playground that noone would take their kids to. Tables and chairs in the restaurants are bordering dirty. The place is far from the ferry terminal and other hotspots. I will only book this place again if i dont have any choices left.

Good part- the room is clean, staff very friendly and helpful Awful- full of mainland Chinese tourists . The whole place is just catered for mainland Chinese . TV program is either Bahasa or Mandarin , 1 French channel. Horrible atmosphere . Mainland Chinese shouting everywhere, spitting , throwing rubbish . I’m sitting in my room at 9 pm now , there’s a full blast of music and Chinese karaoke or performance . Seriously the atmosphere is so horrible beyond words .
