Graha Cakra Malang

Best hotel in Malang... very suitable for a vacation or even a stopover for a business trip because the place is very comfortable.. all the staff are very helpful and do not let us guests get confused in the hotel area... Must try best!!!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The service was excellent, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I also really loved the hotel’s interior design—it was elegant, stylish, and very inviting. Special thanks to Mr. Fatwa from the Reception team and Mr. Davva from the Concierge team for their warm and professional service. They made my stay even more enjoyable. Thank you for the great hospitality. I would definitely love to stay here again!

We were so looking forward to staying at the Shalimar Hotel after reading the great reviews. It was supposed to be a 5-star luxury experience. In the end, though, we have to admit: It‘s good from far, but far from good. The hotel is pretty to look at from various angles, but quite run-down, when you look closely, and is located on a busy street. Our Royal Suite was spacious, but very noisy. The mattresses are rock-hard. The bathrooms are old and damp. Breakfast was moved to a conference room on the first morning because the restaurant was booked for another event, and it had a late-communist charm. The service deserves special mention, though. The entire team went out of their way and was very quick. Housekeeping brought various blankets in no time at all to make the overly hard mattresses more bearable. Maria, the heart and soul of the hotel, gave us a tour of the place, showing us the “speakeasy” hidden behind the closet and the hotel’s café next door. In the end, the friendliness of the staff and the service make you overlook the hotel’s various shortcomings. Good efforts, but so much untapped potential—and certainly not a 5-star hotel.
