Park Inn Shannon Airport

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip thru Ireland and this hotel was the perfect spot to unwind after dropping off the rental car before our flights back to the U.S. and home the next morning. Even though mid July, the building was cool and our room was comfortably cool during our sleep (and we are from the hotter part of the US, so we would know). The restaurant was the perfect place to relax, drink, and eat and enjoy the scenery of the nearbly Shannon Estuary from its outdoor seating area. The restaurant/bar itself is a nice setting as well (loved learning of the history of pilot for which the restaurant is named and seeing the pix of celebrities who've come thru the aiport) and the bartenders were nice, friendly, and attentive. The room was very nice, modern, clean, and comfortable. Very quiet. The three of us were comfortable in the one room, which they even upgraded further with no extra charge, which was a good value for us. The staff checking us in and out were very nice, professional, and friendly as well. Just a few steps to the terminal in the morning. Would stay here again, no question!

While this is obviously an "Airport Hotel" whose most important attribute is location and ease to the airport (you will walk to the terminal), the people here are what we will remember. From the moment that we checked in, (Duggan was our excellent (and humorous) check in person, we felt cared for. This was corroborated later when the hotel manager Eva (who seemed to be everywhere with her multiple job titles), helped us in our room with a minor issue. Despite the proximity to the airport, the room was very quiet. We enjoyed a lovely dinner right at the hotel in the cozy, bistro pub with Luke and Adam as our expert servers and the excellent breakfast buffet the next day was just the thing we needed before our long travel day ahead.
