The Clayton Liffey Valley hotel in Dublin is by no means equipped for rest, at least the rooms that get the sun in the afternoon, and there are many of them. In this hotel, I have seen what I have seen in no other: room doors facing the hallway left open with slippers, chairs, ironing boards, etc., placed so they wouldn't close. Some of these rooms, as could be seen from the hallway with the doors wide open all night, even had the fridge open to see if it would do something and lower the temperature. The windows could not be opened more than four inches, and the only "lucky" ones were those who had a balcony and could leave it open. Air conditioning is essential, and the small fan was totally insufficient. We let them know at the front desk and they gave us the usual excuse, that they are fully booked, but that if any room with a different orientation became free, they would let us know; of course, they never did.
