Sheen Falls Lodge Kenmare

Our first time at this Hotel but by no means our last! Absolutely outstanding. Location is stunning. Staff exceptional. Rooms spotless and comfortable Dined in the Falls Restaurant. The food was exquisite and staff so helpful and attentive. Even had seals pop their heads up in the falls pool below. The food is as good as I’ve tasted anywhere. Outstanding Special mention to the doorman Brian. So welcoming and effortlessly friendly

We stayed here as part of our Backroads trip. the hotel and grounds were lovely. The staff was extremely accommodating and kind. The food at each of the restaurants.was.excellent.

Do not stay here. We worked with a high end travel company to arrange a private tour around Ireland. I had read an article about Sheen Falls Lodge and asked our company to revise our itinerary so that we could stay at Sheen Falls and have dinner at their formal restaurant. We pre-paid our travel company for all of our hotels, including Sheen Falls Lodge. The trip was in mid-June, but to ensure we received a good room, our company booked a deluxe room for us way back in early October, 2025; the reservation was confirmed then. When we arrived at the Lodge, the check in person said, “I’m afraid I have some bad news.” He then proceeded to say that the hotel was fully booked, that there was some computer glitch, and that they were downgrading us to a basic room that ended up being in the basement level. The explanation was confusing and did not seem honest. When I asked when the computer issue happened, the person mumbled something about it happening that morning. They did give us a $100 credit but only to be used at the Lodge. I asked to speak to a manager and no manager contacted me until we checked in for our dinner. The manager apologized briefly but, again, offered no explanation that made sense or that seemed honest. I noticed a large biking group had checked in, and I can only surmise that they gave our room to someone in that group. I have never had this happen before in all my years of travel around the world. The restaurant was horrified that this happened, and apologized even though they had no control over the room reservation process. My travel company contacted several people at the Lodge to try to get an answer about what happened but to my knowledge they still have not responded to my travel company. This is just really bad business, pure and simple. I deeply regret changing our itinerary to include staying at Sheen Falls. Think twice about booking there. Just awful customer service.
