Treacys Hotel Spa & Leisure Club Waterford

The hotel seems to be nice and grand on first sight but when you look closely, you will notice how run down it is. Rooms were clean but not super clean - hair in the bathroom, plastic packaging in a corner... The fitness is the same, run down, dirty, most of the machines not even working Swimming pool is heated but the sauna is dirty. There is no cleanliness code. Some people jump from sauna to swimming pool, don't use towel to sit on. Absolutely no hygiene. The pool changing room is in even worse state. While breakfast was included in the price, choice was very poor. One could order two pieces of toast but no other baked products only croissants. Salad fruit sweetened with sugar as well as yoghurt or whatever that was. Never again.

This hotel is fabulous! We’ve been lucky to bag the penthouse on the 4th floor with full front and side view of the river. We even have a balcony! We have 3x huge floor to ceiling windows. It’s spotlessly clean and the room is huge with a double and 2 x single beds. The bathroom is modern and spacious. The staff are very friendly and the place is spotless. Breakfast was fresh and hot and there was a great choice of quality food. Dinner last night was good too. The staff go up and beyond expectations. We can’t thank you enough. Was a nice releaxing atmosphere, only complaint was the light from the phone kept blinking on and off all night and it woke me a few times. There wasn’t really air conditioning, just a room fan but no suitable place to really plug in,had to be plugged in on the ground, so it was humid which also affected sleep. Otherwise was overall a nice atmosphere and very convenient near train station. Price was €282 for 2 nights, would have been better at €250.
