I have stayed at this property many times. Boy, has it gone downhill. The location is great so I still come here, but there are lots of problems, the biggest being that I've had to beg them to honor my Diamond Status with IHG. I showed them the proof that I'm Diamond (the letter from IHG saying "Congratulations! You've earned Diamond Status" and they said, well, in our opinion, you're Platinum. No evidence. No justification. I was not allowed to speak to the general manager. I finally gave up. So no, don't expect them to honor your IHG status. If you want to be near the train station and aren't very particular about room quality, food quality, or housekeeping, then this wouldn't be a bad choice. Otherwise, there are better choices including in the IHG family.

We stayed at the hotel with all our school staff, and unfortunately, although the hotel itself was clean and the rooms were clean and pleasant, the service experience was very disappointing. Already during our stay, we encountered unpleasant treatment from receptionists and staff. Whenever we asked a request or question, we felt disturbed. For example, we asked for the opportunity to use the hall for a few minutes to gather together as a group, and instead of trying to find a solution or offer an alternative, we received disrespect and a basic reluctance to help. We checked out at 11:00, and when I got home I found out that I had forgotten a pair of sandals in the room. I called the hotel at 15:00 and told me to check and get back to me – no one came back. I called again at 17:00, and I was told to check and get back again – and this time no one bothered to contact. The sandals were definitely in the room at the time of departure. Even if they were eventually not found, I expected that at least a real attempt would be made to locate them, and someone would stand up to promise to come back to me. Service is not just a clean room and a comfortable bed. Service is attitude, caring, responsibility and the desire to help our guests. I will not go back to this hotel, and I will not recommend it to anyone else.

Great hotel in a great location. Staff is great. Breakfast is superb!
