Hotel Cristallo

I will premise immediately that there are not many 4-star hotels in Giulianova, so you don't have many alternatives, but this hotel is objectively a true 4-star, even thinking in perspective after the redevelopment work not yet finished (today the actual pool and the SPA are not there). Rooms, bathrooms, location, and service are all up to the standard of a true 4-star and with a very good quality/price ratio. Only advice: assign the table to the room as is now done (at least at breakfast) in almost all hotels, and you will avoid people like us (a group of 4) remaining standing because the "usual couple" is using a table for six. The review is 4 stars because everything else is not at the level of the hotel. The attached restaurant does not reach the level of the hotel (reduced menu and minimal portions), especially when compared with other neighboring establishments (including beach clubs); at Lido Cristallo, even with very welcoming staff, the restaurant part is not at the level of the other neighboring beach clubs, even in economic terms (more than a cutlet, it looked like a breaded sheet of paper). Finally, the cost of parking in a space owned by the hotel (today a construction site) seems frankly excessive to me. Anyway, we will return, if only to see the completion of the work.

Excellent hotel with excellent, kind, and helpful staff. Clean rooms, excellent services. It is very comfortable, the construction site does not disturb at all, if anything, the piano bar is more disturbing, which in any case ends before midnight. In a year there will be exclusive services such as a spa, swimming pool, massage center, etc. Excellent restaurant, abundant and excellent breakfast, with super kind staff. The beach and the beach manager are excellent. The only downside that prevented me from giving it 5 stars is that it is too cold in the common areas. You sometimes enter almost in a swimsuit and wet, in the hallway it feels like being in a refrigerator. Same thing in the dining room and in the morning at 7 in the breakfast room, where, instead of turning on the air conditioning, they could open the outside doors as many do, considering that it is definitely nice outside in the morning. We hope that once the renovation is complete, this problem will also be evaluated.

We chose the hotel over the competition because of the miniclub service described on the website as running from 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM, both on the beach and at the hotel. Imagine our disappointment when we discover that, in reality, there are no activities for children at the hotel. And on the beach, the activity consists of 2 girls—well-meaning, for heaven's sake—who arrive around 10:00 AM with a basket of beach toys. This is when you are lucky and it isn't Monday, when they have their day off, or another day when there is only one girl who has water aerobics at the same time and therefore cannot be with the children. This is the kids' club. I tried to talk about it at the reception, but obviously, aware of the poor service, they couldn't tell me anything other than \"in the evening there is a piano bar at the hotel,\" as if the piano bar were an activity known to be related to the kids' club. Certainly, the poor service doesn't depend on the reception staff, but it is clearly known by the entire staff, who, amidst general embarrassment, try to trace the problem back to the beach staff. The same, let's say, not very \"transparent\" attitude also occurred in other situations. In 7 days of vacation, for about 4-5 days we found small bottles of water in the room's fridge. Naively thinking it was a gesture of normal courtesy from a 4-star hotel that had promised to entertain our little ones for a full 14 and a half hours, we had the audacity to quench our thirst with that liter and a half of water for 3 people, only to find it on our bill at the end of the vacation, without any price list ever being communicated. Once again, unclear communication, coincidences? Okay, are you young and without children and want to have fun in the 3 rooftop Jacuzzis? Perfect, great idea, too bad that the dozens of pigeons with intestinal problems are just waiting to do their business in the Jacuzzi with you. Were you young once and are you looking for a comfortable vacation? Perfect, for 4 floors of the hotel there is currently only one working elevator, so prepare to wait 10 minutes to go anywhere. And the beach? A 300-meter walk in 104-degree heat on uneven sidewalks, you have my full respect. But there is a piano bar 5 nights out of 7, so you can't complain anyway. To recap, if you don't have children, you aren't young, you aren't elderly, and you like paying for services that don't exist, this is the hotel for you.
