"Pampered with a smile," that is how I summarize my 5-day stay at the "Boutique Hotel Il Riccio," in Roccaraso. A 3-star hotel that is worth 5, in many respects. WELCOME: I am received by Simone, an intelligent and ironic person (he knows how to do everything and do it well, you will understand later...); in a few minutes he explains the history of the Abruzzese Civilization to me, advises me to visit the village of Rivisondoli and Pescocostanzo (stunning), a jewel of Renaissance and Baroque art, humanizes the Marsican bears for me, provides me with explanatory maps, and recommends the best restaurants in the area. Briefed and 100% autonomous. ROOM: very welcoming! Spacious. In full mountain style, all in wood, with a large, flowered balcony and a pleasant view of the mountain. High-quality sheets and towels (thick, quality stuff) pleasantly scented, slippers. Gummy candies galore and 2 bottles of water. Instructions posted for the WiFi and for calling the front desk during the day or for nighttime issues (there is no front desk at night, but there are 2 cell phones to call if needed). Comfortable and large bed. Safe. Modern TV of generous size. BREAKFAST: very tasty and abundant! Scrambled eggs, omelets, cold cuts, everything prepared to order, espresso: very fast preparation times and excellent quality. Delicious homemade cakes. Pancakes, yogurt, cereal, juices, it's all there. And a Mr. Cappuccino: giant cup, perfect milk/coffee ratio, foam of the right consistency, hot temperature (without being boiling), prepared by whom? Simone, who you then discover won a "Best Cappuccino" competition, and you understand why he makes it so good. In the breakfast room there is also pleasant background music, at the perfect volume, which keeps you company without preventing you from chatting: every detail is taken care of down to the smallest particular. EXTERIOR: convenient parking, garden with deck chairs and sun loungers for sunbathing and relaxing. (A nice big fluffy cat also wanders around the area.) In conclusion, fair price-quality ratio, excellent food, flexible and friendly staff, boutique quality. Is it understood that I highly recommend it?!

Very well-maintained, clean, and welcoming property... excellent breakfast with all homemade pastries. We thank Simone for all the information he gave us upon arrival about places to visit and restaurants. Excellent experience!

Unforgettable vacation. Wonderful hotel, furnished and cared for with taste down to the smallest detail. The owners are very kind and always available to give advice and recommend visits in the area. The quad excursion with Raffaele was magical and so much fun, with an excellent aperitif immersed in nature! Special mention for breakfast. Cakes and tarts strictly handmade! Super! We will definitely be back!
