Park Hotel Evancon

When I arrived there was no-one available to let me in so I hid my backpack behind a big rubbish bin and went for a walk. Then I returned and sat on the steps. Eventually another person arrived and called reception and moments later we were admitted. I was walking the Via Francigena and had stayed at this hotel in 2016 so I knew that it was convenient for my walk as well as comfortable. I had a lovely room overlooking the gardens at the back. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very clean. It has links with the pizzeria, Pako, nearby and this gives hotel customers a discount on their meal.

this was a nice place to stay. fairly central. service was fine. breakfast was fine. rooms were fine. nothing really wrong, but nothing really stellar. stayed here as part of walk on via francigena...booked through a company, so not really sure re costs

Six of us stayed here for two nights on our walk on the Via Francigena. Very comfortable and welcoming. Excellent breakfast, although the restaurant was closed for dinners. But the hotel owns the pizza restaurant next door; and we had an excellent pizza dinner there one night. Good WIFI - and free. Bedrooms were large and clean. We were very touched by the helpfulness of the manager and one of his assistants. We had booked for the second evening at a restaurant on the outskirts of Verres and could not find a taxi, as it was Sunday. The Manager and his assistant drove us there in two cars and picked us up again at the end of our meal - and would take no payment for this This was so kind.
