Hotel De la Ville

Courteous staff (apart from a young lady who was rather angry, probably due to her personality) and here the positive aspects end. I wonder who the entity is that checks the meritocracy of maintaining the stars obtained probably in the 80s, as currently the hotel is in barely 2-star condition. Aside from the old-fashioned furnishings and the 80s upholstery that one may or may not like, one can appreciate worn and dirty carpeting in the hallways and rooms, broken tiles in the room's bathroom, walls to be repainted especially in the lower part of the hallways, and air conditioners in the rooms from the Renaissance era that cool insufficiently. The breakfast is as sad as the room dedicated to it, with self-service beverage and coffee machines from a retirement home. The overnight rate is in fact among the lowest in St Vincent (paid 130 euros bb - 21 square meter room in August). Unfortunately, the hotel marks the decline of a resort based on the presence of the casino, which is now on its last legs, and in fact, I can understand the lack of desire to make investments in light of the tourist decay with the advent of online casinos, but the stars should be aligned with the conditions. Consequently, my criticism is neither for the staff nor for the owners of the property, whom I can even understand economically, but the fact remains that customers are deceived by the number of stars, by the well-conceived photographs on the site, and by the descriptions provided by booking, and upon arriving at the location, they remain disappointed. Some renovations like repainting the hallways or giving a coat of wood paint to the elevator are expenses of a few euros that would already partially resolve the first impression at the entrance. It is a pity that those who work there have to receive complaints for which they are not to blame, as they are the ones facing the customers while the problem is upstream.

Incredibly outdated hotel, perhaps even 2 stars is too much now Rooms with old furniture and doors with holes and no lighting for breakfast to say the least embarrassing. The only positive notes are the location and the staff.

We stayed the weekend of March 8 with a package that included hotel + spa (of the spa I already wrote in another review). 4 stars so to speak, old and very dated hotel, with still carpet everywhere, very dusty and 900 furniture, with signs of wear. The bathroom also dated, with rust on the sinks. Breakfast more than 1 star, little choice, not fresh briosches and packaged things, coffee from the machine and the same for drinking. Only positive note the location, directly in the center. For the cost it has, the services are not 4 stars, I strongly discourage it. Seeing the ghost town, it will probably be the next hotel to close.
