Valentino Resort

Score: 1 star out of 5 . A four-day stay to forget, and it's a good thing it lasted a short time. The organization and cleanliness of this resort were a total disappointment. The problems started immediately upon arrival: despite having done the online check-in to speed up the procedures, I still had to wait in a very long line. As if that weren't enough, at the time of registration they claimed that my payment did not show up, despite having made it regularly a week earlier. The first night was a nightmare: my daughter was very ill due to an allergic attack triggered by a room literally full of dust. Only the next day, and only after making a report to the reception, was the room finally cleaned properly. The restaurant service is embarrassing for a four-star hotel. On the second day, arriving for dinner at 8:30 PM, they had already finished almost everything: the quality of the products was decidedly poor. As if that weren't enough, on the third day I was struck by gastrointestinal problems. A sore point also for the pool, visibly dirty, so much so that you could feel the sand under your feet while walking on the bottom. The only positive notes, which save the property from total disaster, are the people. The staff proved to be professional and super helpful in the face of our complaints. A special round of applause and huge compliments go to the entertainment team: very talented, they managed to do an excellent job despite the obvious difficulties of the property. We will never return.

We stayed at this property in the last week of August. We had another experience in previous years at the Torre Serena in Ginosa Marina, which had satisfied us. This experience, however, was very, very disappointing. A resort with good potential, but very poorly exploited. The catering leaves much to be desired, quite monotonous in its offering, such as seafood salads sometimes with a bad smell, repeatedly served. Poor quality chicken nuggets, first courses poorly executed (unseasoned and not blended). The pasta night offered an unseasoned paella, which reminded me a lot of the frozen kind. At breakfast, a scarce variety of pastries. Not to mention the rudeness of the waiters, one of whom on the last day kept repeating the phrase "never again" out loud. There are several coffee and cappuccino dispensers, but only one dispensed drinkable products. As for the wine dispensers, the one on our side dispensed warm white and rosé wine for the entire week. Cleaning was barely sufficient (our small terrace was always full of ants), terrible on the beach, where we found dirty sun loungers and a greasy umbrella base (you could see it had never been washed). As for the entertainment, few entertainers, willing but not very effective. If you don't frequent the arena in the evening for the coffee game at 50 degrees, you are practically in the dark about all the activities. Tournaments at unreasonable times, with entertainers who would not help participate to complete the teams. I tried to organize a little game in the evening, given the temperatures, but at reception they told me that I had to pay for the court. We tried to attend a Yoga class, but in the evening they couldn't tell us if the instructor would be there the next day (due to illness) or if they would have replaced her. Do I need to add anything????? I don't think it's necessary

I had booked for myself, my wife, and my 23-month-old son. I will describe my experience at this resort from two weeks ago. We stayed for a week; expectations were very high given the reputation of Bluserena, a group that has a turnover of 250 million euros. We found a resort abandoned to itself, tiles in the resort lifted, railings with wooden handrails completely rotted. A rumor was circulating among parents about a gastrointestinal virus among the children, but the resort kept it quiet. On the second to last day of vacation, my son started vomiting, nine times to be exact. The truth is, I called the reception and they were immediately kind and sent me a doctor because the resort pediatrician was not answering. A very kind person, after examining our son, made us understand to go to the hospital. We called 118, they advised us to rush to the hospital immediately; they wanted to know the room number and my name and exclaimed, 'Another one from the Valentino Village.' As advised by 118, we went to the Taranto hospital, where the pediatrics department is, a 35-minute drive. Even there, they exclaimed, 'Another one from the Valentino Village.' He was taken to pediatrics under an orange code, half-fainted with very low blood sugar. They administered medication to the child to stop the vomiting and put him on an IV from midnight until 6:30 in the morning. Having returned to the reception, due to my fault in a bad way, I told the operator, and she told me that management would contact us, but it never happened. It makes me angry that a resort of that size keeps such a serious thing secret because many children in the resort were sick with gastroenteritis, and cleaning, instead of being stepped up, was scarce. To go to the beach, it is very inconvenient with little trains with open side doors, which is dangerous for those with small children. From the umbrellas to the roundabout, if someone wants something to drink, they have to go more than 100 m uphill under the sun, with broken and rotted wooden walkways; imagine with bags and strollers. On the beach, there is no relaxation; I was there for seven days with the same umbrella, and being a cigar smoker, no one cleaned the ashtray in seven days. Dated rooms, sometimes they didn't even clean the bathroom, dirty balconies, dirty towels, and sheets that smelled. One day we even had the room with ants everywhere, even on the bed and on the towels, which, however, reported to the reception, they resolved immediately. All-inclusive package (red bracelet) almost useless; if you wanted a premium gin, you had to pay for the whole cocktail from scratch, and not as a normal thing to pay only for the addition of the premium gin. If you were late in buying bottles of water at midnight, they turned off the drinking stations (kept dirty), and that was it until the next morning. A mammoth structure, but one that gave me the impression that Bluserena has abandoned it. The only ones who try to keep this structure standing are the staff, including entertainment and catering, very kind. And in the canteen, I must be honest, the quality of the food was acceptable, removing the tables that were one on top of the other. I reiterate, the dining room staff is very kind. The pools were very dirty; they had a little robot for a huge pool, which by nine in the morning, the beach day was already starting with a dirty bottom. Honestly, I expected a vacation with 1,000 comforts and relaxation from Bluserena, but that was not the case, and it is not even for the €3,000+ that I spent, but I would not return to that resort even for free. I forgot to write, back home, we caught the virus too, and my wife and I were in bed for seven days. Thanks to Bluserena for this magnificent vacation. Allocate some of your corporate profits to the health of your guests, who are the people who help you grow your turnover!!
