Masseria Montenapoleone

This property was our home for four nights during our trip to Puglia and it did not disappoint! Half of the facilities are original and the balance were created in the same historical style so you would never know they are less than 20 years old. Our room was on the second floor of the main farmhouse and was very charming. The decor is purposefully eclectic. We had a terrace overlooking the outdoor dining area. The room was spacious with all the modern amenities tucked into the authentic decor. We had a daybed, desk, comfortable bed and ample storage space. The bath had a large walk in shower. Each morning, breakfast was plentiful, pleasant and efficient. We had dinner in three of their dining areas - main dining room, gazebo and vineyard - that were all very unique and lovely. The pool was a terrific way to cool off and relax after a hot day of touring before dinner. This was a very unique and lovely experience.

Unforgettable experience. Everything perfect, from the welcome to the last course. Staff attentive to the customer's needs, waiters very nice and qualified. Very good drinks and the quality of the food respects the price paid. Unique location.

Decidedly disappointing experience and, considering the prices, well below expectations. We had booked with the idea of experiencing an aperitif in the vineyard, but upon our arrival we found ourselves facing a real invasion of bees, to the point of making it practically impossible to stay outside. We perfectly understand that it is a location immersed in the countryside and that the presence of insects can be normal, but in this case the situation was truly excessive and forced us to move inside. Consequently, the experience for which we had booked was not actually possible. The property is certainly evocative and the location has its charm, but unfortunately the food is absolutely not up to the standard of either the setting or the prices charged. We found the proposal rather mediocre, with products and preparations that did not seem of particular quality to us. It's a shame, because the potential of the location is undoubtedly high, but overall the experience did not satisfy us and, for the price paid, we do not believe it is worth it. €130 for what you see in the photo. Honestly, considering the price, we expected a completely different quality. The presentation and the choice of dishes reminded us more of a classic airplane meal tray 😅 than an aperitif in a location of this level. Very poor quality and absolutely not proportional to the price paid.
