Hotel Masseria L'Ovile

Of course, the staff is very kind and welcoming... but half-heartedly, they admit that they cannot work miracles. The masseria is in very poor condition. On the 1st day, the bed broke. Not a surprise for the team who had already ordered a new mattress. This might be funny in a family hostel, but for a relatively expensive masseria, with photos suggesting a magnificent swimming pool and beautiful rooms, it is borderline lying. We were hesitant due to the friendliness of the staff to make a positive comment, or no comment at all. But, the owner is taking money by refusing to renovate an out-of-state masseria. Small rooms, very ugly furniture, bathroom from another age.... The "managing camping" aspect could be amusing, but, for 50 euros more per day, you have an ultra-luxurious 4-star masseria (the one we will go to next year). To conclude: the team itself told us they were hesitant to open in 2024 if the owner does not invest. Why not, but in the meantime, a week paid in full and which we leave without looking back.

Rooms were clean and the Pool was amazing but fittings are a little tired and need attention. Breakfasts were adequate but no more. The whole place needs some love and attention. I got the impression that the budget was very tight.

We had a lovely nine-day holiday in this friendly masseria. The room was comfortable and spacious, and the linen spotless. It's a three-star standard. The staff were quite delightful and nothing was too much trouble; drinks from the bar were very reasonably priced. Wonderful pool! The evening meal option was very flexible and well worth at least investigating; the restaurants used were terrific.
