Il Frantoio

If you are in Puglia, I highly recommend Masseria Il Frantoio. My boyfriend and I did the dinner experience and had the best time. The owner provided a tour of the grounds and a brief history of the Masseria before dinner, which was magical. The local dishes were incredible and some of the best food I’ve ever had. The wine and olive oil was definitely the best I’ve ever had - my boyfriend and I bought 3 bottles of wine and 2 of olive oil to take home. Such a kind and welcoming team!

Very overrated. Closed swimming pool (out of season end of April). No service: I had an unpleasant remark for leaving the car too long in front of me to put the suitcases in the room. We had the gourmet meal ‘ but we do not drink wine (no discount). Unkind staff at reception. No possibility to dine (outside the gourmet menu) and not on Easter Sunday evening (because only lunch).

We loved our 5-night stay at this restored masseria in its own olive grove 10mins from Ostuni. The staff are really friendly and welcoming plus we had a great room in the main building on the first floor, complete with our own kitchen and living room. So comfortable and quiet at night. Breakfast is generous and it's fun to stroll around the lovely gardens. We really liked the 'welcome home' message each time we returned from a day out. The olive-oil tasting is a good experience too with the knowledgeable Lucia. All in all a very relaxing experience.
