We spent one night at the Mercure, located near railway tracks but well insulated. It is a beautiful hotel with a friendly, helpful staff at the front desk as well as the bar and the restaurant. The room we had was comfortable and clean. The bathroom could use a refresh: the shower is one of the old fashioned ones with two sides that stick with magnets. It is also quite narrow.
Nice pool, among a profusion of plants. The breakfast spread is plentiful and varied, including eggs made to order and the dinner menu at the restaurant provides a nice selection. The fish and octopus were delicious, as was the dessert. The recommendation for local red wine was spot on. A lovely dinner!
A good place to spend a couple of nights in Bari!

Hey, we stayed at the hotel on the 20-24/7 dates, we were very much enjoying the hotel, a lot of green with also nice and well-groomed corners. The service was excellent, the receptionists were amazing and helped us in everything.

This hotel is ideal for holidaymakers who want a relaxing break by the pool but who also want to explore the city of Bari. It was a 15-20 minute walk away from the railway station (we couldn’t find the taxi rank, due to extensive works in that location), but all on the flat.
The Reception staff were friendly, spoke excellent English and were helpful in providing a map and showing us the main tourist areas.
We had a large room on the third floor, with a dining table and chairs and an easy chair, with a view over the lovely gardens and pool. This hotel is sited in the grounds of an old villa, which is still used for conferences and family events. There was a large car park. The room was very clean, the bed linen was good and there was a plentiful supply of towels and sundries in the bathroom. Two pool towels are provided, but if you want clean ones, there’s a 2.50€ charge. The package we had meant that the contents of the mini bar were included free of charge, with water, soft drinks and snacks.
Breakfast is in the restaurant or you can choose to sit out on the terrace. It has an excellent selection of hot and cold foods. Top tip: order coffee from the waiting staff. It’s better than that from the machine! It’s best to go before 9am, as the room does get rather crowded.
The hotel bar was well-stocked but pricey for spirits.
The absolute jewel of this hotel is the restaurant. It is fantastic! The menu has a selection of dishes from Puglia and an interesting choice of dishes. The food was of high quality and cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were attentive and knowledgeable. We had an excellent rosé wine from a small vineyard that was a revelation.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Villa Romanazzi Carducci.
