We stayed for **3 nights** in this 4-star hotel in Vieste, traveling as **two adults, a child under one year old, and a small dog**.
Let's start with the positive aspects, because it is right to recognize what deserves it: the **location of the property is certainly excellent**. The hotel is located a few steps from the beach and the historic center of Vieste, an ideal location for those who want to enjoy the city without constantly using the car.
A note of merit certainly goes to most of the staff. **Reception, concierge, front desk manager, and bartender** proved to be extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming people, always ready to meet the needs of the guests. Their professionalism and their way of conducting themselves undoubtedly represent an added value for the property.
Unfortunately, however, this positive human element is not enough to compensate for some significant critical issues encountered during the stay, especially considering the hotel's stated category.
The room assigned did not correspond to the images seen at the time of booking: we had the feeling that we had been placed in a decidedly less well-kept room, perhaps also in consideration of the presence of our dog. The animal's stay costs **15 euros per night**, a figure that we consider rather high, although the delivery of the doggy bag with some gadgets at check-in was appreciated.
The room appeared **dated and not very in line with the expectations of a 4-star hotel**: old furniture, a bathroom with a style dating back to the 90s, and a very small shower. There was also a hydromassage function, which, however, was not very useful compared to the need to have more modern, functional, and comfortable environments.
Another sore point concerns the housekeeping service. The attention to detail seemed decidedly insufficient: the bed was left with the sheets hanging down to the floor, a situation that was not very pleasant to look at and not exactly in line with the hygienic and aesthetic standards expected from a property of this category.
Furthermore, despite the presence of a very small child, no dedicated towels were left. A shortcoming that we found difficult to understand. The room was made up early in the morning while we were at breakfast and, upon our return, we found ourselves waiting about 15 minutes in front of the door before being able to enter. In the meantime, our dog, who had remained in the room, suddenly found himself in the presence of a stranger, a situation that caused him evident agitation.
What made the episode even more unpleasant was what happened afterward. After the room cleaning, during the housekeeper's check of the work done, the door was evidently not closed properly and remained completely wide open.
Upon my partner's return to the room, while I was at the beach with the child, the moment of apprehension was intense: our dog was no longer inside the room, but was in the hallway in front of the elevators, sitting on a sofa. Fortunately, our four-legged friend is a calm and intelligent dog, enough to stay there waiting for us, but the situation could have had very different consequences.
In addition to the fear for the dog, finding the door to our room completely open inevitably also generated fear for the safety of our personal belongings. An aspect that in a hotel establishment should be managed with the utmost attention.
During the same morning, a maintenance worker was also present who was performing work on the air conditioner using a sanitizing product. An operation that is certainly positive in terms of maintenance and cleaning of the systems, but it would have been more appropriate to carry it out with the room vacant, avoiding having guests breathe the intense smell of the product.
The apologies received from the reception and the availability shown by the staff were appreciated and testify to the good will of part of the staff, but unfortunately they were not enough to erase a series of oversights that negatively affected the overall experience.
The restaurant also represents a less than positive note. The **breakfast was satisfactory**, but the cuisine did not convince us. In an extraordinary land like Puglia, rich in typical products, gastronomic traditions, and raw materials of the highest quality, we expected a greater appreciation of local flavors.
In conclusion, a stay characterized by **some very positive aspects**, such as the strategic location and above all the kindness of most of the staff, but also by too many shortcomings for a property that presents itself as a 4-star hotel.
The hotel would certainly have great potential, but it needs greater attention to detail, more focus on internal procedures, and an overall service more consistent with the declared category.
