Forte Hotel

Overall a more than positive experience: first and foremost, deserving a top rating, the cleanliness of both the room and the common areas. The pool is quite large, although we found the hot tub turned off. The adjacent bar and the one inside were a bit lackluster. A sore point is the restaurant: the tables are set fast-food style, without a tablecloth and with plastic placemats. Ugly to look at and to touch. Dishes ranging from good to excellent but service terribly fast: as soon as they saw the empty plate, they would clear it and immediately bring the next course without a moment's breath. So much so that, after the first day, we devised a plan to pretend we hadn't finished to have that bit of slowness that allows you not to feel bloated at the end of the meal. The beach is very large but well-equipped with an excellent bar and restaurant. Above all, quiet without annoying noises and chatter. And finally, the proximity to the historic center, ten minutes on foot, allows you to walk and enjoy a spectacular view without having to take the car.

For the second consecutive year we decided to book at the Forte Hotel in Vieste and just like last year, for a week we were pampered, both at lunch and at dinner, with the delicious dishes and the commendable service, cooked and served on the hotel's relaxing sea-view terrace. Once again a special mention is a must for the maitre d' Filippo Pellegrino who with great skill and always with a smile (never a wrong note in his behavior towards the dining room staff and towards the customers), directed the "orchestra" in the dining room from the welcome to the lunch and dinner service. Tips on food to try? Everything that was served, with the possibility of choosing between seafood, meat, and soups/broths in addition to the main courses, desserts, and fruit... we hope the saying there's no 2 without 3 holds true...
