Garden Hotel Ripa

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It’s set in a beautiful garden and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved the simplicity of our standard room. It was traditional and Italian and was spotlessly clean and spacious. It had lots of worktop space for placing our belongings. The bathroom was a good size too, with a hairdryer and a good shower. The room and towels were cleaned daily. Immaculate! Breakfast was lovely - the coffee fantastic and beautiful cakes and pastries, fruit, cheese, meats, eggs, bread etc. The pool was lovely - clean, very quiet and relaxing. There’s also parking within the hotel grounds and the Wi-Fi was good. The hotel’s private beach is directly across the road, which was so convenient! Each room gets a free umbrella and two sunbeds for the whole stay. There’s also a restaurant on the beach, which was really good and also a lovely place to eat or just to have a drink and a gane of cards at the end of the evening. The private beach was beautiful - the sea clean, calm and so warm. Vieste old town itself is about a 25-minute walk along the seafront, then up the hill into the charming old town. It’s absolutely beautiful, with narrow little streets, steps, many restaurants and amazing sea views. We saw the famous Scalinata dell’Amore too and loved the plentiful fish dishes and the orecchiette pasta and local Raffo beer! We hardly saw any foreign tourists while we were there. Only Italians. It made the whole place feel very authentic - we loved it. (The only challenging part of visiting Vieste was the last 50 mins or so of the car journey towards Vieste from Bari - with its very windy road, full of hairpin bends. Not for the faint hearted! This made us think twice about leaving Vieste for day trips.) Excellent value for money. We really loved our time here and would definitely come back. Puglia is beautiful. Highly recommended!

Very beautiful facility, immersed in greenery with flowerbeds of palm plants and well-kept vegetation, two steps and you are on the beach, comfortable rooms and modern and elegant restaurant. Very kind and friendly staff, having a little dog, the service of agreeing on the room cleaning time was top-notch and always respected with punctuality, very good and varied food. Beautiful and well-equipped beach. Wonderful pool and pool area. We highly recommend it!

I stayed for a few days this week. Overall it is good in terms of cleanliness, kind staff, umbrellas and sunbeds not spaced out from one another, but there are some points to improve. As a superior room it is small, the mattress is uncomfortable, in the morning I would get up full of aches. Then at the beach where the showers are, they should do a disinfestation, it is full of bees and wasps... to finish, more surveillance is needed for people who own dogs. Some uncivilized people let them pee in the flowerbeds and even poop in the side spaces where there are little stones; instead of picking up the excrement, they cover it with the little stones. Then they give them showers obviously in the main ones on the beach and they let them pee. There should be an equipped area for dogs. When I called to book, they said that the rules for dogs on the beach always required a leash, but instead they left them free on the shore. Nothing against animals, but one must also respect others and common areas, not turning a beautiful place into a toilet of pee and poop. If this hotel improves these points, it will become excellent!
