B&B Laino

I would have given 3 stars or maybe even 4 because the place is cute, convenient for visiting Maratea, has a small parking lot, and the pool is pleasant after a hot day at the beach. Unfortunately, however, I have to lower the rating because it is truly overpriced!!! 175 euros per night seems like an exaggeration for a very normal little room in a private home. Reggaeton at breakfast, no comment, no toiletries in the room, the managers/owners not very present.

We stayed at this property and the experience was definitely positive. The location is convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful Fiumicello beach with its turquoise and clear sea; the rooms are cleaned regularly, with towel changes every two days and sheets changed halfway through the stay. The sleep quality is good, but it is necessary to keep the air conditioning on and the windows closed due to the noticeable noise of cars and motorcycles speeding on the road. The central pool is nice for a swim upon returning from the beach. A special mention also goes to the breakfast, which is truly rich, varied, and of excellent quality. The owner proved to be kind and helpful: he came to pick us up at the station upon our arrival and took us back upon our departure. The only small weakness encountered was the bathroom door in the room, which unfortunately did not close because it protruded from the frame, a maintenance detail that should be fixed to ensure privacy. A suggestion for the property: reaching the historic center of Maratea in the evening is unfortunately complicated due to the lacking schedule of the summer bus service. The 7:40 PM bus is not punctual (sometimes the bus passes at 8:00 PM), making you arrive in the center around 8:30 PM. This effectively makes the 9:00 PM return trip useless if you want to have dinner, forcing you to wait for the next one at 11:40 PM. An excellent idea to encourage and help guests could be to sell bus tickets directly at the property upon arrival. On the other hand, coming by car and using it during the vacation is out of the question due to the significant lack of parking both at the beaches and in the center, including the port. Overall, it is an excellent B&B, recommended for a great vacation in Maratea!

My partner and I returned on July 16 after a week of vacation in Maratea that was truly disappointing. Doors and windows lacking shutters or blinds, but what is worse, no screens, which are necessary especially in summer and if you live on the ground floor; we therefore had to sleep with the windows closed. As for the air conditioning, it was located in the small living room and very little air reached the bedroom. Furthermore, the Wi-Fi reached the pool but not our accommodation. The mattress was truly poor and sagging. Unfortunately, the house was infested with small creatures called \"woodlice.\" Transportation to and from Maratea was truly poor for those who arrived by train and not by car. All in all, an experience that we will certainly not repeat.
