Disastrous stay: electrical fault in the room not solved, room not ready on arrival and overly aggressive manager
My experience at this facility was nothing short of disastrous. The arrival is already complicated in itself, as to reach it you have to take a dirt road, narrow and decidedly dangerous, information never reported when booking. Once I arrived at 4:30 pm, I discovered that the room was not yet ready despite the check-in time being from 11 am to 6 pm. I therefore had to wait over an hour before I could access it.
Finally, around 5:30 pm, I entered the room and initially everything seemed in order, but after about half an hour, while I was taking a shower, the power suddenly went out. I checked the electrical panel in the room and found the lifesaver down. I immediately contacted the manager, who arrived but was unable to solve the problem: he simply kept raising and lowering the switch to no avail, telling me that he would absolutely not find an electrician on the Saturday of the week of mid-August who could quickly solve the problem.
At that point I would have expected at least a correct and helpful attitude, maybe even just a small form of apology or a modest discount on the total stay (120 €). Instead, the situation escalated quickly: the manager, instead of taking responsibility, began to accuse me of having caused the failure, insinuating that it was my fault, despite the fact that in the room I had only connected the mobile phone charger. When I asked simply to take the disservice into account at the time of payment, his reaction was to tell me: “if you don’t want to pay anything, leave the room”. I would like to point out that I had never asked not to pay, but only a moderate discount in view of the problem encountered.
The manager even claimed several times that the damage was not me, but him, because he could not rent the room in the following days. In other words, he was not the least bit concerned with the client and his well-being, but his attention was only on his own economic loss. The discussion escalated heavily: the tones became extremely aggressive and rude, so much so that I felt treated not as a guest, but as an intruder to be thrown out.
In addition, the manager repeated several times inappropriate phrases such as "these problems arise only with you Neapolitans".
In the end I was not offered any solution: either I paid the full amount to sleep in a room without power, or I had to leave. I was then forced to leave the facility around 7pm and quickly look for another accommodation, with additional stress and discomfort. To make it even more incorrect, the manager had withheld my documents already when handing over the keys, saying that he would return them only to the balance of the payment scheduled later. I find this behaviour totally inappropriate and opaque.
I had started with the idea of spending a relaxing weekend, but I left stressed and angry, after a heated argument with the manager and with the distinct feeling of having been treated badly. Such management is absolutely unacceptable: never again in this facility, which I strongly advise against anyone

Stunning location is the only thing that I can recommend about this hotel.
We arrived early evening to be greeted by a surly receptionist who was obviously annoyed about having to deal with guests.
Demands for our documents were given that would have put the Gestapo to shame, following which we were shown to our spacious room which had not been cleaned and the shower had obviously seen better days.
We had made a reservation on line for dinner and were looking forward to an evening of fine Italian dining however this was not going to the case.
The receptionist as the waiter offered for our delectation either pasta or fried veal and when we asked for the menu he exclaimed.
"But it is in Italian"
Undaunted we chose the fresh seafood starter, you can see the sea from the terrace, and the salami platter followed by the veal.
The fresh seafood consisted of a decanted tin of tuna and bottarga bruschetta whereas the salami platter had chorizo in two ways, two chunks of cooking pancetta but no actual salami.
The grey slab of leather on a plate with an undressed side salad represented our main course and we would probably have done better in terms of presentation by going to the nearest MacDonalds.
We had hoped that our receptionist/waiter/chef was just having a bad day having to cater for the three guests staying in the hotel, but this was not the case at breakfast the following morning.
It is the first time when staying in an hotel that I have been huffed at for asking to have coffee on the terrace.
If ever you want to stay in Corigliano book a different hotel but make the journey to Palazzo, take a photograph of the stunning view and then walk away.

The hotel is a beautifully restored ancient palace of the '500.
The interior is very nice and the staff is very kind.
My beautiful room was divided in 2 floors with internal staircase, comfortable, spacious and refined. The breakfast buffet served on the beautiful terrace with panoramic views over the valley. In addition, the excellent restaurant Don Cesare, excellent seafood dinner.
Only the street to reach the hotel is very narrow.
Hotel highly recommended, expecially for couples.
