Villa Paola Hotel

I very much enjoyed my recent stay at this hotel, except for a couple issues that I mentioned to the team. The property itself is beautiful, with clean and quiet rooms, and a great location only about 15/20 minutes (walking) into town (although maybe not to walk at night given there aren't sidewalks or walking lanes). The food was fantastic - especially the breakfast with multiple options to choose from each morning. Thanks to Emma and Maria for always being so kind and welcoming. I appreciated the attention to my dietary needs as well. They were excellent. I loved the pool. At first, given that it wasn't very large I wasn't sure it would be so peaceful with other guests there as well. But, I luckily had it all to myself for a few hours on a couple days. Swimming and smelling the lovely flowers was just what I needed. The hotel also overlooks their farm or garden, and they use the produce in their kitchens. You can walk down from the hotel through it to get to the beaches. It's a bit strenuous to walk back up, so maybe see about a shuttle. I was concerned about a hygienic issue that occurred in the dining area one evening, which I expressed to the team, so hopefully it has been addressed. Thanks to Sara, Camilla, Catia, Deborah and Michela. There were a few instances where I wasn't sure if my questions or concerns were being disregarded, but I think it was more a matter of the language barrier. Couple things to note: -The private car transfer from the Lamezia Terme train station is 120 euros. -They do offer laundry services for a cost. -I had some trouble with receiving a response via email before I arrived. I had to ask their sister hotel to help with the connection. Then everything went smoothly. Overall, a lovely stay.

Villa Paola is a gem immersed in tranquility and peace, with a breathtaking view of the splendid port of Tropea. A facility attended to in every detail, where each element contributes to creating a refined and welcoming atmosphere. We chose the De Minimi restaurant and its nine-course tasting menu, "La Novena," completely trusting the skilled hands of Chef Emanuele Pucci. An extraordinary gastronomic journey, rich in research, creativity, and harmony of flavors. Accompanying the menu was an impeccable wine pairing curated by Sommelier Maria, a professional of innate skill and elegance, capable of enhancing each dish with perfect pairings. A special thanks also to Giuseppe, attentive and knowledgeable, and to the maître, excellent in describing the dishes, the study work that supports them, and the philosophy that animates the entire restaurant. All the staff was simply wonderful, from the welcome to the aperitif served on the terrace. An unforgettable experience that we will carry with us as one of the most beautiful memories on our anniversary. Thank you Valeria

Called and booked in advance to go for drinks on the terrace!!! Drove all the way there only to find they had a wedding and the terrace bar was closed for the function!! Definitely very annoying when you check and try to make sure all will be ok!!!!
