Hotel Villaggio S. Antonio

We stayed at this resort last week and the experience was unfortunately terrible. The property itself is vintage but acceptable; the real problem is the total lack of maintenance and a management that is disastrous to say the least. For two days in a row, the air conditioner in our room leaked water onto the floor, making us risk falling. As if that weren't enough, our room was on the third floor and the elevator was constantly broken every other day, forcing us each time to take a longer route to find another one that was working. The shuttle service also left much to be desired. A very sore point: the dining, a real nightmare. Breakfast was meager and always the same. At lunch, the food was either cold or very tough due to overcooking, while at dinner the same menu was constantly served, just covered in different sauces. All of this might have been surmountable if it hadn't been for the exhausting 15-minute lines just to manage to put something on your plate. The property hosted about 550 people, but the dining hall time slots were very tight (breakfast 7:45-9:15, lunch 12:30-14:15, dinner 7:30-9:00 PM). The result? Cutlery, teaspoons, and even napkins were constantly missing. The dining room manager, despite boasting about working there for 16 years, seemed like a new hire on their first day: organization was zero. If you wanted to hope to eat something, you had to rush to the entrance at the exact opening time, otherwise you risked going hungry. And that is exactly what happened to me last Sunday: our vacation ended with breakfast, we went down to the dining room at 8:30 (so right in the middle of the scheduled time) and all I could manage to get was a glass of water. All the food was already gone. When we pointed out the problem, the response was "Sunday is like that." We reported and brought all these inconveniences to the staff's attention time and time again during the week, but no one ever did anything concrete to resolve the situation. We want to specify that the basic staff is still polite and helpful, but is clearly a victim of inadequate management. The only real strong point of the facility was the entertainment: exceptional guys, lively, full of resources and never intrusive. They were very good and saved what could be saved. In conclusion, this resort absolutely does not deserve the 4 stars it displays; two would already be generous. I will never return and I do not recommend it to anyone. We stayed at Villaggio Sant Antonio from August 30th until today, and we personally had a great time. The entrance is majestic; as soon as we arrived at the reception, it took just the time needed for documents and paperwork, and we had our room immediately. The rooms were spotless and perfect, with daily towel changes that were still warm from the laundry. It didn't matter much to us if the rooms were dated; what was important was that they were clean. I asked for a little help with the pillow and for the presence of ants in the bathroom, and the cleaning staff helped us right away. What can I say, quick and very efficient. The restaurant is managed by the maitre d' and the dining room staff; in my opinion, the maitre d' was professional and patient, but also quite directive with us customers who sometimes got lost among the dishes. I want to praise the guy who took care of us, Antonio, a very good guy, polite, WE LOVE YOU ANTONIO. The food was delicious, a menu and assorted appetizers every day, you didn't know what to choose. There are many of us, so consequently, we had to wait for the time it took to replenish, but there was enough food for everyone, from breakfast to dinner. Only this morning was breakfast a little scarce, but we ate anyway; we didn't die of hunger 😂. The bar staff on the morning and afternoon shifts were tireless and patient. Beautiful property, but above all the shaded parking, which was very much appreciated. The very well-kept green spaces and perfectly trimmed hedges, truly well done. The entertainment of the Fruit Village is a guarantee for young and old, we know them very well, they are beautiful and very good guys, talented with a great desire to live and to always do well for us tourists. The pearl of the village is the attractions for small children in the pools, supervised by lifeguards, but the pool for adults was also very evocative and carefully monitored by the lifeguards. Both pools were clean and there was a lot of chlorine. The sea was beautiful and could be reached by shuttle both in the morning and in the afternoon. As far as I am concerned, the beach club was fine, the only "flaw" if it can be called that, is the lack of a bar point, for the rest nothing to complain about. I hope I haven't forgotten anything, but this long review in my opinion was worth it all. Everything perfect for us. Compliments to everyone, truly. Good work to everyone.

Efficient facility, clean rooms, good food, service to be improved, too much waiting for food, very good waiters, wonderful Evelin, a very capable girl, Maicol won us over with his shyness, TOP entertainment, we spent a beautiful week.
