Hotel Torre Oliva

The hotel is located in the Gulf of Policastro, in the territory of the municipality of the same name, on the border of that of Scario and practically in front of Maratea. The view is pleasant, and in the evening the spectacle of all the lights in the gulf, up to Calabria, is not to be missed. We found a large, quiet room, with a spacious bathroom and a small balcony, always clean, as were the common areas of the hotel. The cuisine was to our liking, as was the service. At our disposal we found canoes and pedal boats; we noticed continuous surveillance by the lifeguards, who were also present at the pool. The management proved to be always available for our requests.

Overall beautiful hotel, excellent location right by the beach and well-equipped, even if isolated and requires a car to get to Scario center/port. The staff was very kind, with one single exception. The room lacked drawers to store things, The restaurant was the decidedly negative note, partly because of the location on the lower floor, lacking any sea view, but above all because it was structured partly as a buffet (with dishes always served cold even when cooked), and partly with fixed menus with little choice. The quality of the food was mediocre and it was also cooked quite poorly, to the point that at times, along with the organization, it reminded me of a company cafeteria. The restaurant staff then got confused in managing allergies and intolerances we reported before arrival, sometimes forgetting the requests or proposing unsuitable foods, and almost never organized specific dishes, but only reused what was proposed by the existing menu. It's a shame, because the place is definitely worth it, and apart from the restaurant, the vacation went absolutely well, so I would recommend it, if possible, avoiding using the restaurant.

Well-maintained and well-organized facility, very spacious and located in a pleasant, cool, and enjoyable place. Very polite staff ready to fulfill your every request. Welcoming and clean rooms, with punctual and precise linen changes. The waiters Vincenzo, Ivan, and Kevin who served us in the dining room were very professional, attentive, and courteous under the direction of the very kind Dining Room Manager who, with friendliness and a smile, orchestrates the service in an exemplary manner. The lifeguards are always attentive and ready to put you at ease. Ms. Isabella manages the beach with a lot of users in an impeccable manner, meticulous in everything. The entertainment team is made up of many very polite and friendly young people; Cristian and Federico stand out among them all. The reception is also managed perfectly by Ms. Palma and her trained and very kind staff. Everyone contributed to making my vacation pleasant and relaxing, and I will certainly return to this facility next year.
