This is really a 3.5 out of 5 hotel, as "average" (3) feels too mean, but it also isn't "very good" (4). Small, basic room, clean and tidy, simple breakfast offered, warm and friendly hosts. Unbelievable location, my room looked directly out over the Duomo, and it's right in the heart of all the attractions of Amalfi (albeit being on the main square does come with some noise problems: people late at night, deliveries early in the morning, and there was an open air concert in the square one night that went on till 11.30pm). Downside: comically small shower cubicle that was like a telephone box, with nowhere other than the floor to put shampoo, shower gel etc, so it was hard not to bang the door or the shower when bending down to pick stuff up. Also I could hear toilet flush etc from neighbouring rooms. It's basic, but if you're ok with no frills, it is good value for money, given how expensive Amalfi is.

The most beautiful, special, and charming hotel we have stayed in. Decorated with great taste. The rooms have every detail, and the bathroom with hand-painted nautical tiles is charming... Waking up in the middle of the night and looking out the window at the beautiful cathedral on a street full of life and joy... that is priceless. Their breakfasts are extremely complete and exquisite!! Maria, you are a sweetheart!! Thank you for treating us with so much affection, generosity, and closeness always. Rumen and Marta (La Rioja).
