Villamena

Large rooms, fabulous breakfast, cleanliness, hospitality, and a sea view. Furthermore, it also has a restaurant where you can eat excellent Mediterranean cuisine in the evening overlooking the sea.

We just returned from a fabulous week in Furore at the B&B Villamena with our two teenagers. I can't say enough wonderful things about Evelina and Rafael and their family (and Aron the dog!). We stayed in the upper apartment which is actually two levels- the perfect arrangement with separate spaces for parents and teens. The rooms were beautifully appointed and had air conditioning (a must this summer!). The kitchen and washing machine were wonderful additions, as was the spacious terrace. The restaurant Relish provided excellent dinners for nights we didn't want to cook, but as others note, you must make reservations with Rafael earlier in the day due to capacity. The B&B is in a quiet location away from the intensely crowded Amalfi and Positano, yet in walking distance to the Fiordo beach (down many steps). A greatly appreciated local shuttle bus carted us to a variety of local spots and Evelina provided taxi contacts for other destinations. I would recommend against renting a car if you are new to the Amalfi Coast. Driving/parking is a death defying art. We will treasure our family time at Villamena & Furore and are grateful for the kind, helpful family that operate this B&B.

We really liked the accommodation and the friendliness of Evelyna, really a lovely and helpful person. Very comfortable room and terrace has a lovely view. Breakfast too quite a lot. The only thing we think needs to improve is the attention from a man who I think is the brother, really a very unkind and unpleasant person, with a horrible attitude, marred quite the experience with his ironic answers and bad attitude. Beyond that all good.
