Hotel Terme Fiola

Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome during our stay at the beginning of July. We were the only English people staying at the time, but nothing was too much trouble, even the menu was translated for us each night. Our room and all areas of the hotel were kept beautifully clean, although very simply furnished. The food was very nice, freshly cooked each evening. The spa was lovely, I enjoyed 2 mud baths, Rosa works very hard today provide a great service, thank you. This is a lovely hotel a taste of real Italy, on the beautiful island of Ischia.

We have just returned from a lovely family holiday based in this very pleasant hotel. Our group was made up of my husband and myself along with 2 of our daughters (young adults). The staff at the hotel were extremely hard-working and seemed to get no time off, but were so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were compact and cleaned each day by a lovely friendly lady called Anna Maria. Ceiling fans helped keep us cool during the heatwave, and the doors opened out onto the balcony which was great. Our evening meals (we stayed on a half board basis) were extremely tasty and chosen the previous day from a menu, rather than buffet style. Served up by the waiters and waitresses, all our meals were fresh and hot. Breakfast was self-service and consisted of bread, croissants, cereal, yoghurt up to 3 varieties of cake, and a savoury option too. The supermarket is only a few minutes away so it was easy enough to buy a piece of fruit there and bring it along to have with breakfast for those not used to such an indulgent start to the day as cake, ham and cheese! The pool is soothingly warm. small - more of a giant jacuzzi than a swimming pool. Great for lounging around in and enjoying the thermal and jacuzzi effects. There was an indoor spa with lots of options too, but we did not use this as we found plenty else to keep us busy! What we wanted was an authentic Italian experience for our first visit to Italy. Review Ischia provides helpful information and stunning photos of the island. The hotel had no other English guests when we staying... most were Italian, plus a few German. It gave me chance to try out the Italian language I had been trying to learn recently with Duolingo. I had thought of paying for a language lesson soon after arrival but it really wasn't necessary. Although only a little English language was spoken by the staff and guests we met, the kindness, helpfulness and cordiality more than compensated for any misunderstandings and provided much fun all round! Taxis seemed the better option of getting around the island, although you had to be up for adventure and not too concerned if there wasn't a seatbelt available. we made the mistake of buying weekly bus passes at the start of our week. After just one day of travelling, we had had enough. It was quite an ordeal waiting in the scorching heat, then boarding an already overcrowded bus with only a handful of seats that were all already occupied. We missed the UK way of queuing, and the consideration of others, as it seemed quite normal for young children to occupy a space instead of sitting on the knee of Mum or Dad , and even luggage was given a seat rather than letting anyone else sit down. In fairness not all the culprits were Italian. The island is lovely though we only managed to explore a small fraction of it. I thought the hotel might be a little more garden-based, but this was not a problem. We are very appreciative of the lovely stay we had and would particularly like to express appreciation of Angelicca, Francisco and their Mum who run the hotel along with their great team of staff. The hotel was a little pricey, great pool, and very accommodating staff. The hotel is a little hard to find without GPS or local guidance, its down a small alleyway. The beds are very uncomfortable and there were ants in the room.
