Villa Palumbo

This is a little slice of paradise on a steep hill in Positano! We loved our two rooms at Villa Positano, as they stayed cool (AC was fabulous during the heat wave), housekeeping kept it impeccably clean, and the small patio had gorgeous views of the canyon. Breakfast is absolutely fabulous. I don't know where they get the croissants, but holy moly I already miss them. The best thing about this property.... THE STAFF. We stayed in two rooms for four nights and the staff went above and beyond. It's a family-run establishment and they are always working to make their guests feel valued. We are American and they noticed that we put tea bags in the pot, let it cool, and then ask for ice to create iced tea. Without prompting, they started to do it for us and bring extra ice. It was such a special touch. But this takes the cake... While in Positano, our daughter developed a very intense toothache. She isn't a complainer, so we knew something was up. It was actually the last night of our stay, and we were leaving the next morning for Sorrento. It was a Saturday morning and we kept calling places, but with the language barrier (our part) and lack of open places, we weren't sure what to do. We went to the front desk and the two gentlemen started calling places in Positano and Sorrento. They found us a dentist, gave us all the instructions to find the place, and then wouldn't accept a tip. They saved us big time and sent us to the kindest dentist in Sorrento (who wouldn't accept any payment and was also incredibly delightful). Enjoy the cool air, great beds, beautiful grounds, tasty breakfast, and proximity to the stairs to the city center (20 steps from the hotel entrance), about 25 feet from the internal Positano bus stop, and the staff. It's a gem.

Beautiful place to stay. The balcony is incredible. The staff were lovely and provided maps and advice on arrival. The breakfast was lovely - coffee, juice, boiled eggs, toast, meats and cheese, yoghurt, pastries. We will stay here again when visiting Positano

Our stay here was fantastic. The view from the room was amazing - overlooking the mountain opposite. The room was small but perfect for what we needed. Drinks in mini fridge in the room.. the water was free but some items charged at reasonable prices (Can of Coca Cola for €2). Staff were friendly. You have the option to have breakfast brought to your room in the morning to have out on the balcony. We needed breakfast at 8am as we had a ferry to catch at 9:15am. Breakfast was brought to us at 8am on the dot..and it was lovely.. nice cappuccino, ham and cheese, croissants, bread, cereal, yogurt. In order to get a great Mountain View, you need to be high up. When we arrived in Positano on the ferry, I used Google maps to find our way to Villa Palumbo. Google maps said a 12 minute walk. We started the walk up some stairs, and some time later we were still climbing stairs.. hundreds of them! Coming down the stairs if fine, but the next time we needed to go back up.. we caught the bus which stops nearby to Villa Palumbo. There are also taxis available. Highly recommend.. we would stay again, hopefully very soon.
