From the moment I raised my concerns, I was met with a complete lack of professionalism from both the reception staff and the hotel's management. Reception staff responded dismissively to legitimate complaints, often smirking rather than attempting to resolve the issues raised. When I requested to speak with the Director, Mr Walter Gargiulo, he refused to answer straightforward questions regarding the hotel's four-star classification and the discrepancies between the services advertised and those actually provided. Rather than addressing my concerns or offering any explanation, my complaints were ignored, demonstrating a serious lack of customer care and accountability. Furthermore, during my visit to Maya Beach, a waiter behaved inappropriately by approaching female guests without male companions to ask for their telephone numbers and persistently staring at women, even when accompanied by their partners, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. The concerns I raised related to the hotel's failure to provide the facilities and services expected of a property advertised as a four-star hotel. Upon arrival, there was no reception, concierge or security staff at Vista Capri Hotel, and I was instead directed by a cleaner to another property, Maya Beach, for reception services. The hotel itself had no bar or swimming pool, despite promotional photographs and descriptions creating the impression that these amenities were available on-site. Guests were required to leave the hotel and walk to Maya Beach simply to access reception services or purchase a drink, which is inconsistent with the standards reasonably expected of a four-star establishment. I believe the way Vista Capri Hotel is marketed may constitute a misleading commercial practice under the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree No. 206/2005), as consumers appear to be induced into booking accommodation based on facilities and services that are either unavailable or belong to another property. I also sought clarification regarding whether these circumstances could engage Article 515 of the Italian Penal Code concerning the sale of goods or services that differ from those represented, but received no response. I respectfully request that the relevant authorities investigate whether the hotel's four-star classification, advertising and marketing comply with Italian consumer protection and tourism legislation, and take appropriate action to protect future consumers from being similarly misled.

We wanted and booked, as advertised through Lastminute.com, Vista Di Capri, a 4 star hotel with breakfast on site at the Sky Bar and a room with a terrace, with access to the pool and beach at the 5 star Maya Beach resort. This is not what we got. My husband has mobility issues and we’d planned to make use of the terrace and the Sky Bar to enjoy the Sorrento coast view. We arrived at Vista, after 9pm, tired and hungry, to find no one there, after calling the hotel number we were told someone would meet us. On arrival the man told us we had to use the WhatsApp number for all communications - this should be provided before arrival. We asked about getting some food as we knew that the Sky Bar was closed it was then that we were told there is NO Sky Bar and there is NO food or drink at the Vista Di Capri. We would have to go to the Maya resort for breakfast and if we wanted a meal. We now know everything is focused on using the facilities at the Maya resort. A free bus shuttle is provided for the 5 minute journey down to Maya. On taking us to our room, good point there were no stairs and the room is a good size, we were presented with a very bare room with no balcony/terrace only a Juliette balcony. The room did not reflect what was on the websites we had looked at. There were no pictures on the walls, only picture hooks, no plants, no tea/coffee cups, no books - nothing to make it feel inviting - or as shown on websites. We made it very clear this was not what we had booked. There are no outside communal areas where you can sit so we had to spend a lot of time in the room, the outside bins were overflowing with rubbish, the ‘lush’ gardens were dangerous with rubbish, remains from a bonfire and holes around the jacuzzi/hot tubs . The wi-fi is unreliable. The only staff on site are the cleaners. The room next door to us, with a balcony, had a bamboo roof for shade was falling down. There is a feeling of neglect everywhere. After 2 nights we were transferred to the Maya resort. This was not without several issues but we’d began to loose the will. Be prepared that Saturday nights are Club night, usually with 2000 youngsters attending, the Saturday we were there was a ‘quiet’ night with ‘only 1000’ attending. After 11am everyday the resort has an Ibiza/Ayia Napa vibe with loud constant base beat until late evening. This is not the relaxing and peaceful break we had expected or wanted. We have emailed , with photos, Lastminute.com and GTO (who owns Vista Di Capri and Maya) but to date have had no reply.

Never ever rated anything before, but this was the worst hotel I’ve EVER stayed in, and I don’t want anyone to spend a penny here. In fact, I wrote this before I even left because it was that bad and we cut the trip one day short to get out of this hotel. We had a 5 day stay on the coast and decided to stay here as a home base. Laziest workers ever. Dirty hotel. Cheap hotel. Bed is basically plywood. Hotel dinner was $200 USD and the worst meal I had over our 13 day trip. We were told to call the front desk if we need anything at all. We called for a taxi the following morning and they said that they’ll give us the number so we can call them. We didn’t get through and asked them to call so we don’t miss our ferry. They said they’ll walk us through it so we can do it, rather than helping as they said they would originally. We messaged them at 3:39 PM requesting to be picked up via the free shuttle at 9:30 PM (they only require a 30 minute advance) , they responded at 8PM saying the shuttle is full and they can’t get us. They told us to get on the 11 PM shuttle. Me and my wife had to spend 50+ USD on a taxi to get back so we weren’t stuck in Sorrento for another hour and a half in the cold and dark. We got back at 9:30 exactly from sorrento and saw the shuttle driver on the phone watching a soccer game in the front parking lot. They told us waters to the room would be included and stocked daily. They were not restocked ever. We called asking for water ( after we got a taxi back when they wanted us to stay out till 11), and once we told them the room number, they laughed and said we can go down there and get it. We called the front desk asking for an iron (because they don’t have one for each room) and they said they can’t have anyone bring it to us until 7AM, it was 5:45 AM… How are you a “4 star resort” and don’t even have irons for people to use.
