San Francesco Relais

This is a great B&B for couples. The place is quiet and very beautiful and you get the right atmosphere of staying in a church. The staff offered us to use their parking lot which we accepted. Parking in Massa Lubrense is expensive and the parking spaces are limited. The breakfast is traditional italian continental breakfast - a bit sweet. You have walking distance to all restaurants in the city.

Lovely, quiet place to stay with a beautiful ocean view. Rooms are simple and comfortable. My kids (12&13) called it creepy but I think that was due to large crucifix hanging on the wall. They loved the breakfast, fresh delicious pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit etc. The one negative was on their website it says free parking, when we got there the guy at the desk said we couldn't park there at all and we either had to pay to park on the street or park in a lot at the beach for 15 Euros/day. Well the first night we payed and parked at the beach. We noticed there was lots of room in their lot by the door so the next 2 night we parked at the hotel for free and no one said anything.

Some people may consider the thought of staying in a church hotel quite odd...however it seemed very natural & comforting to know that this type accommodation was available. Majority of my guests found this place to be peaceful & very humbling. The breakfast was very cute & fitting for it's surroundings. No hot buffet but that still doesn't take away anything from the idyllic charm of the courtyard. The sea views of the harbour are pleasant & refreshing. The church is all inspiring & typically beautiful of it's Italian settings. The rustic garden with the fresh fruits & lemon orchards are wonderful. Very humbled by the hosts of this hotel. They allowed my family to go into the church & say a few prayers. This laid back attitude was highly appealing & made this place very special. In natural surroundings there are bound to be a few minor drawbacks. There were quite a few ants on rooms on the first floor. The odd mosquitoes did come in but I suspect that is expected. Nevertheless our family were able to witness an amazing sunset. A real blessing to have stayed here.
