A B&B run by a very dishonest and unethical owner! We booked in Apr '19 for stay in June. To our shock, the entire building is under massive refurbishment- scaffolding works over the entire facade. We booked a private room with balcony. When shown, there was already some debris on balcony floor, a metal walkway over our heads and absolutely a view of scaffolding netting. Though receptionist was welcoming, there was no way we could stay. We demanded for refund and lady said it's not possible as construction only started 3 days ago! So there was no way they could inform us. She called the owner and they gave the same reason. We stepped out, asked the neighbour who said works have been ongoing for many weeks already. We took a pic of the notice of construction (dated Feb 2019). We informed Agoda. Owner told Agoda the only compensation would be a 15% discount for subsequent bookings! There are tons of B&Bs around. Though it's central, it's on a street where it's less appealing with lots of road works around. This place? NEVER unless you support such unethical business owners!

We spent one night here and enjoyed our stay. Rosi was very welcoming and helpful. The room was nice and the building fascinating! The breakfast the following morning was also good (crusty bread, cakes, fruit etc) and we were able to leave our suitcase even though we had already checked out. Thanks again Rosi 😁

I I do not know what planet the other reviewers went to when the gave this dumpa a positive review! First of all you have to climb a loooong stair case from the street, or walk down a dingy alley to find the place. Then, you have to ring someone to open the door to let you in. T"hen you walk through a dark and dirty "piazza" to get to three flights of stairs OR pay 20 cents in the dilapidated "elevator" to get to the B&b." tHE LADY WAS REALLY NICE, but THE PLACE IS REALLY DIRTY. She showed me our room, and it was small and smelled. The windows looked out across the alley into someone's home, and their laundry hanging on the window. My wife stated it succinctly: this place feels like a set for one of Hitchcock's movies.... Like 'the Man Who Knew too Much' or 'Rear Window.' PLUS all the rules and fees for coming in late, using too much bandwidth on the "free" wifi....... we told her charge us for the first day but we are not staying (we had planned to stay for 3 days)..... PLUS she leaves in the afternoon and there is no one there for your needs, emergency or otherwise..... She got mad and even tho she had already charged us, cut off the wifi (so we could not find another hotel) and kicked us out! Happily, we quickly found thru Hotels.com Hotel Miramare right on the bay.... Sure it is $100 more a day.... but it is clean, the staff is there 27/7 I would not send my worst enemy there!!!!!!
