Mergellina

The rather unusual access to the B&B was cause for some concern, but proved to be no problem at all. The room was small but neat and very clean. Our large Window provided a magnificent view, Capri on the right, Vesuvius on the left and the beautiful gulf of Naples in between. Love, love the view ! The breakfast room was very nice. We enjoyed a nice Continental breakfast while still enjoying that wonderful view. It is a little remote from most activities, but there is a bus stop very close, and we found getting anywhere in the city was easy. The staff was exceptional. Just a great stay.

I came to The Lux unexpectedly. I was let down at my pre-booked apartment and a local hotel arranged the room here for me. From the outside you probably wouldn't even know it existed and even it you did, you may not have thought much of it. Once inside the room however I was very pleased. I stayed in the premier room I believe it was called on the first floor. The room was spotless, tastefully decorated and modern. It was very spacious. In the room was a large tv, air con, kitchenette with microwave and hob plus pot and pans etc. One niggle was that halfway through my evening shower the hot water ran out. It main road is quiet enough to let you sleep undisturbed as it's away from the centre of Nalpes but still close the bars, shops and restaurants. The coast is about 5 minutes walk away and the Metro station about 10 minutes walk away should you wish to visit the beating heart. I was told of breakfast but I did not try it as a had a train to catch. The building has a lift. Recommended.
