It was once a nice hotel... once there were nice rooms (now there is no shower, safe and minibar) Once you woke up you would have had a nice whirlpool (now there is no shower and whirlpool is absolutely obsolete) na volta c was a beautiful park (now abandoned with “luxuriant..” vegetation) once there was a nice breakfast (now a self-styled waitress manages to take one order at a time..) na volta c was a nice parking lot (now you have to have a nice off-road vehicle to reach it..) In short, with a beautiful time machine about sixty years ago you would have been from God...

Improbably bad. Really everything is outdated, broken, a mess etc. The central air conditioning was broken. Broken sunbeds, DIY and paint stuff lying around the pool. Dirty mattress with stains without a cover or molton, over which there was only a small sheet that immediately came loose and on which you lay halfway through the night. Cracks everywhere in and around the building, peeled paint etc. The elevator didn't work half the time etc. The few staff there don't care. Most of the time don't speak English. Do whatever. The swimming pool at the hotel acts as a local pool and is therefore full of Italians who come from outside, have reserved beds etc. so that hotel guests have no place or bad places. During the day there is no drink or anything to get. At breakfast there is only 1 person staff who is also unmotivated and goes outside to smoke. Coffee and tea were not there or cold. No way ever come here again. And that is a shame because you see that this must have been a really beautiful hotel about 15 years ago.

I give this hotel a 4 out of 5 because it met most of our needs. It’s close to Herculaneum, train networks, very friendly and helpful staff. If there’s a problem they try and sort it quickly. I think despite what people have said it is a clean place and I am fussy. Liked the lovely fresh fruit salad at breakfast, the extensive grounds, the hidden old staircase, the faded grandeur. We didn’t use the pool as we swim in the sea but it looked well maintained. Disliked all the plastic flower decs. Fresh brown bread would be good. Bedside lights. We did everything without a car. All transport via train network from Napoli.
