Apollo

Now the reviews for this hotel are either good or bad but I couldn’t find fault really. At €90 for three nights I knew it wouldn’t be the Ritz but on my arrival in Pompeii I loved the square and the Apollo overlooks it. The owners on my arrival were friendly CASH only and you pay €2 per night tax extra. Free WiFi which worked everywhere and although my room was basic it was clean and the balcony had a great view. A fan was given on request which was much needed!! The shared bathroom was basic but ok and the shower worked. The hotel has good bars and restaurants nearby and the Pompeii ruin Amphitheatre entrance was 5 mins away. Overall for my sightseeing purposes this place suited my needs, if you want luxury don’t come but if your a seasoned traveler and sightseer this place is great as a base with somewhere to chill and sleep after days out!!

We weren't looking for expensive but a mid range which this hotel was at around 70 pounds per night for three of us. My friend is severely allergic to dogs and the owners pet was wandering around the hotel which we explained made it impossible to stay. According to their pitch it is animal friendly but I don't believe that means roaming around this venue. This was the last straw to be fair. Dirty, dangerous wiring in shower room, cash only payment, DOOR blocked with wood, rude staff and definitely not English speakers. Do not go here to stay .. pictures for your perusal.

Wonderful hotel, staff helpful, friendly and cheerful. We have stayed in so called better hotels but the staff at this hotel make your holiday special. The head waiter was lovely and deserves a pat on the back. Restaurant was run like a well oiled machine. Pool was lovely, poolside bar was great. Lunchtime menu very nice. Would return if I was in the region. Bus stop outside the door, train a ten minute walk away and tickets available at reception. Well done Apollo, you made our holiday an experience to remember
