Best Western Regina Palace Terme

Nice and small hotel with many small minuses that didn't spoil our holiday. The location is very good, close to everything (port, park, shops, restaurant, beach) The outdoor pool is lovely but indoor pool must be renovated. Also the breakfast should be improved. The staff is nice and helpful.

The property prides itself on being a 4-star hotel, but it is only one in price; the real level, in my opinion, is between two and three stars. The positive aspects are represented by the courtesy, politeness, and hospitality of the reception and restaurant staff, less so by the night porter. Furthermore, the location is magnificent. That is all. The 3rd-floor suites are scandalous! Old furnishings, mold stains on the ceiling, damaged floors, etc. I recommend the 2nd-floor Superior rooms as they have been recently renovated. Non-existent parking; cars are continuously moved and piled up in front of the lobby. Dining, disappointing, starting from the disturbing "Chef's Fantasy" appetizer, to the impossibility of having fruit, coffee, or ice cream without an extra charge!! Crazy, I have never seen anything like it with a half-board package. I would also describe the food quality as mediocre. The spa stations consist of two beds for mud treatments and one inhalation station. The "gym" allows a maximum of 2 people to enter, leaving one to imagine its size and equipment. I will add nothing else except, once again, praise for the staff, which partly compensates for the shortcomings of the property.

I stayed at this property expecting, considering the price range, a level of care and maintenance that was decidedly higher. Unfortunately, in some respects, expectations were not fully met. The room is spacious, but it has several details that, in my opinion, would need more attention. In particular, in the bathroom, I found the presence of rust on some elements, a situation that highlights the need for more careful maintenance. The air conditioning system also left me perplexed: the temperature inside the rooms was comfortable, but in several places, I perceived an unpleasant odor, probably attributable to the need for greater cleaning and maintenance of the filters. Another aspect that could be improved concerns the shower, which consists of a tub that tends to splash water outside during use, making the experience impractical and not up to what I would have expected considering the price of the stay. Nothing to complain about, however, regarding the staff, whom I found helpful and courteous. However, I believe that the room cleaning service could also be carried out with greater attention to detail. A special appreciation goes to Ivan and Andrea at the reception, two guys whom I found serious, polite, and professional, capable of standing out positively during the stay. The location of the property is certainly a strong point: it is very convenient, close to both the center and the beach. Overall, I believe that the property has good potential, but that, considering the price range, it would be necessary to pay more attention to maintenance, cleaning, and attention to detail.
