B&B Puntaferano

A bit of a hair raising journey around the steep hair raising bends but once we arrived what a delight. The family made us so welcome the breakfast was delicious, we could not have asked for more and were treated to some local dishes and produce, bedroom spotless and very spacious.Positano about 30 mins away, Sorrento about the same, we had a day on the beach at Meta well worth a trip typical Italian beach resort. I can highly recommend The Osteria Torre Feran restaurant 5 mins walk from the B & B more like a Michelin Restaurant at half the price and the view over Sorrento incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Punta Ferano and would like to thank the lovely family again for looking after us.

I was originally looking to stay in Positano but in hindsight, I'm extremely glad I stumbled upon this B&B. Situated conveniently in the hills above Vico Equense (VE), it's a 10 min bus ride to VE - buses are frequent - from where it's only a 10 min train journey to Sorrento (to go on to Amalfi Coast etc), 20 mins to Pompeii and less than an hour to Naples. The host family was lovely, and while language was a slight barrier, it was by no means a hindrance. The room was clean and had everything you would need, as well as a balcony from which you can watch the sunset over the hills. I would recommend this B&B highly if you ever visit this part of the world.

This B&B was a delight, but only after we got over the fright of getting there. High atop a mountain side with the view of the ocean, the very friendly and accommodating host family makes you feel very welcome. The rooms are clean, not large. But all have a small balcony with a view. Breakfast was wonderful. Fresh croissants, fresh fruit from their trees and fresh eggs from their chickens. We used google maps, took one wrong turn at the bottom of the mountain, and we're rerouted through a street that was walled in on both sides and became so narrow we had to clap both side mirrors in - on a Fiat!! By the time we got to the narrow, much in need of repairs, serpentine road up the hill, we were in need of a stiff drink. The road up is about a 20 minute drive with blind switchbacks driven by the locals as if they were driving on a Formula 1 track. Needless to say, we parked the car and put our lives into the hands of public transportation for the next day's excursion to Naples. Don't make a wrong turn and your experience will be much less dramatic.
