Grand Paradiso Art

My experience at Hotel Art Grand Paradiso in Sorrento was terrible. When we were checking out and paying the bill for the things we had consumed at the hotel, I was charged for two Aperol Spritz (€12 each) that I never ordered or consumed, as well as a €12 coffee that I also never had. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to dispute the charges because my taxi was already waiting for me outside the hotel. I only realized the mistake afterwards. Please be very careful when checking your bill in this hotel — and, honestly, in any hotel. Read every item carefully before paying, as you may end up being charged for things you never consumed. This completely ruined what could otherwise have been a pleasant stay.

We (my husband and I and our two teens aged 19 and 17) stayed at the Art Hotel Gran Paradiso between the 3rd and 13th August. We had beautiful rooms with stunning views, although one room was a little on the small side. However, this smaller room did have a huge balcony with 2 chairs and a table as well as 2 sun loungers. The mini bar/fridge in the rooms were useful for cooling drinks we purchased in the supermarket in town. My only criticism was that the smaller room did not have a mirror outside the bathroom. The bathrooms have lovely powerful showers and also hairdryers, as well as complimentary toiletries. The view from the hotel pool overlooks Vesuvius and is absolutely stunning. Even though we travelled in August which is the busiest time, we never struggled to find sunbeds around the lovely infinity pool. The pool bar serves drinks and snacks all day, including pizzas, sandwiches and burgers. It is not really possible to walk into town, particularly as there is no pavement, but the hotel runs regular free shuttle buses to and from the station, which is footsteps away from bars, restaurants and supermarkets. My only criticism was that the bus tomes into town went from 6pm then 8:30pm, but a 7 or 7:30pm shuttle would have been good, as we found the 6pm to be a little early and the 8:30 a little late. Taxis are expensive which I think is because the taxi drivers do not like the drive up the hill, which is a little tight. Overall we could not fault the hotel which was spotlessly clean, with friendly staff, lovely food and an excellent laundry service. We would return here in a heartbeat.

All my thanks to the staff of the hotel for giving us a top experience. Your friendliness, customer focus and professionalism were top notch. The hotel offers a beautiful view and this has greatly contributed to the quality of our holiday experience. Inside the rooms are spotless and equipped with slippers, beach towels, vanity sets, shower caps. The rooms are a bit bare but very fresh. The shuttle bus will take you to Sorrento 10 times a day. Everything was great. Our special thanks to the drivers, the restaurant staff, the cleaners and the receptionists.
