BEST WESTERN Hotel San Donato

I wanted to inform all potential customers that the management of this hotel denied us a date change that was unfortunately necessary due to family reasons that arose on the booked dates, probably so as not to lose a meager sum from the booking made through Booking. It is nothing short of shameful to strictly apply the rule that you cannot change a date due to an unforeseeable family problem that occurred the day before the vacation. We humbly requested only to move the date of the stay and our authorization was denied. I would like to point out to the manager of the Hotel San Donato in Bologna that the same request was accepted by the Hotel Clarici in Spoleto, to whom we say thank you for their understanding. We will certainly come to Bologna during the requested period despite the sad experience, hoping to find worthy hotel facilities. Regards

We were supposed to sleep for just one night. It was my birthday. They woke us up at 8:00 AM with drills. It turns out that they were doing construction work on the entire floor. Not normal work. Everything was disassembled. So much so that at one point they were dismantling the ceiling just above my room. The worker wanted me to pass under the ladder, which was half a meter high. I could not enter the room that I had paid for. The most serious thing is that no one had warned us. In these cases, it is necessary to render the floor unusable. What if I had slipped on the wet plastic tarps? What if a high-voltage cable had fallen in my face? What if I had tripped over a bucket? What if I had inhaled some toxic dust? The breakfast was not bad.

Friendly staff. Hotel is top two stories of an old palazzo. Beautiful view of the city from the terraces where we had breakfast. Our room was quiet, except for a short period of outside music Saturday night. Breakfast was goid.
