Staying at the Hotel Kursaal Ferretti in Cattolica was an experience that to call disappointing is an understatement. The general impression is that of a facility that operates with the minimum effort possible, while offloading the final result onto the customers. The staff appears poorly trained, often rude, and with misplaced informal communication. No smile upon arrival, nor during the stay: a cold welcome that immediately makes one feel uncomfortable. Even the cleaning staff leaves much to be desired, both in terms of presentation and perceived reliability. The care of the rooms appears superficial, with neglected details and a general feeling of little attention. The management seems distant and inattentive: that supervision that would make the difference is completely lacking. One perceives excessive cost-cutting in every aspect, from the room lighting – insufficient and not very functional – to the daily management. The result is a clear gap between expectations and reality. The dining room service is another critical point: waiters visibly struggling to manage their role, with unprofessional attitudes and often inappropriate tones. In particular, a short, very exuberant, and visibly tattooed girl stands out, whose approach is not very appropriate for the context: brusque manners, sloppy communication, and an attitude that conveys more discomfort than hospitality. Next to her, another waiter she works with, often busy speaking Spanish with colleagues instead of focusing on the service, contributes to giving a disorganized and unprofessional image of the dining room. The reception is perhaps the most frustrating point: insufficient language skills that unnecessarily complicate communication with guests, especially foreigners. In a tourist context, this is a serious and unacceptable limitation. Overall, one perceives a constant and difficult-to-reverse degradation compared to what the property represented in the past, with a progressive loss of the quality standards that one would expect from a place with this history. Despite the tourist vocation, the environment and service management are not suitable for a family-friendly context: attention, patience, and organization are lacking, which are fundamental elements for welcoming families in a relaxed manner. This critical issue appears to be attributable to poor operational management, where the responsibility clearly falls on a management team incapable of ensuring consistent standards and quality control. In conclusion, the restyling appears more superficial than substantial and is not supported by an adequate improvement in service: the overall experience is well below expectations, with a quality-perception ratio that strongly penalizes the stay.

We had a great time!! Spacious room with everything you need. The food was varied and very good. The Argentine guys in the dining room were super!!! Really great!!! What can I say, a perfect vacation!! We will definitely be back!

I was attracted by the location, the atmosphere, and the reviews I read, but never was a choice more wrong. The assigned room had a broken air conditioning system, but only the next day, after constant reminders, was a real inspection carried out and they changed our room. But this is the least of it. The real sore point was the catering. Food cooked not badly, but very badly, to the point of being inedible. Buffet with questionable preparations, full of unidentifiable sauces, very few, practically absent vegetables. And the breakfast was also, I would say, minimal. And all this to be consumed in a NON-air-conditioned room and under the sun! With the temperatures that were there, we ate dripping with sweat and with the need to wear sunglasses. I would say that for a historic 4-star hotel, all this is unacceptable, truly. Kudos to the dining room staff and the maitre d' who always did their best to try to make us feel comfortable. A huge disappointment!
