€1,870 FOR 9 NIGHTS. AND THESE ARE THE CONDITIONS WE FOUND.
If you are thinking about booking this property, read this review to the end before spending a single euro.
We stayed from August 8th to the 17th, paying a whopping €1,870 for 9 nights.
The money, obviously, was collected without any problem.
It is a shame that, once we opened the apartment door, we were faced with a situation that we consider unacceptable for an accommodation paid €1,870.
The apartment was dirty practically everywhere.
Greasy and dirty dishes. Oven in embarrassing condition. Dirty cabinet doors. Dirty floors. Dirty walls. Dirty windowsill. Curtains that did not appear adequately clean.
And we are not just talking about a few details.
The bedroom shutter was broken.
The shower was dirty and clogged.
The toilet leaked water with every flush.
This was the situation we found upon our arrival.
And do you know what we had to do?
CLEAN THE APARTMENT OURSELVES.
After paying €1,870, instead of entering the house, unpacking our suitcases, and finally starting our vacation, we found ourselves having to clean what we should have found already clean and reporting problems that should have been resolved before our arrival.
But the worst part is that this also ruined the first few days of our vacation.
For two days, we had to follow the technician around to allow for the necessary repairs to resolve the apartment's issues.
Two days of our vacation lost due to problems that we did not create and that we should never have found upon our arrival.
We reported everything.
We contacted the property directly.
We contacted Booking repeatedly.
We continued to ask for assistance until our return.
And what did we get?
Insufficient responses and no concrete solution.
Even more serious, despite the documented situation and the inconvenience suffered, the property refused to acknowledge the refund/financial compensation we requested.
It is hard not to ask oneself a very simple question:
€1,870 for 9 nights is collected without any problems. But when the customer finds an apartment in these conditions and asks for the inconvenience suffered to be acknowledged, suddenly everything becomes much more complicated.
We, however, do not intend to let it go.
We have collected photos, reports, communications, and documentation regarding the problems encountered and the contacts had during the stay.
We believe that the poor service suffered and the conditions of the accommodation must be evaluated in light of the applicable regulations and our rights as consumers.
If a solution is not found, we will assert our claims in the competent venues and through legal channels.
At this point, it is no longer a question of “complaining about some dirt.”
It is a matter of principle.
Paying €1,870 for a vacation means purchasing a service. It does not mean purchasing the right to clean the apartment yourself, wasting two days waiting for a technician, and then having to chase down the property and support to get an answer.
This review does not stem from a desire to discredit anyone for no reason.
It stems from the need to recount exactly what we found and what we had to experience, so that anyone thinking of booking can make an informed choice.
Because if we had found a review like this before booking, we would certainly have considered very carefully whether to spend €1,870 to stay here.
RUINED VACATION. INADEQUATE SERVICE. INSUFFICIENT SUPPORT. NO ADEQUATE RECOGNITION OF THE INCONVENIENCE SUFFERED.
And now it will eventually be up to the competent authority to establish what the responsibilities are and what our rights are.
Because €1,870 can be collected in an instant. But when the service is not provided under the expected conditions, the customer has the right to demand an account of what they paid for.
We will do it. All the way
