Hotel Montecarlo

TERRIBLE and dishonest experience. I stayed with a gift box after having already paid the supplement on the site. On site, the hotelier forced me to pay the full price of the room again, ignoring the value of the voucher, saying she did not know about it and playing the blame card on Booking. To top things off, the property's bar strictly demands cash payments and does not issue receipts, refusing cards and room charges, in total violation of current laws. Unfair business practice. I got my refund and that is GREAT...but ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE! The only positive thing was the kindness of the Black girl at the reception.

We arrived at the Montecarlo B&B in Milano Marittima as an alternative solution proposed by Booking, after the property we had originally booked turned out to be unavailable. Stay: 5 nights in August, 3 people + small dog in a quadruple room, over €900. Room: very small for a quadruple. For 3 people plus the dog, the space was really cramped. Breakfast: meager buffet, little choice and small portions. Breakfast is served by two people (a man and a woman) who are rude and arrogant, Nonexistent services: water can only be drunk on-site at breakfast time, it is not allowed to fill a water bottle. Since it is a B&B, not a hotel, we would have expected at least free water available during the day, with bottles or a dispenser. There is no refrigerator in the room or in the common area, nor a space where you can heat up and eat something. Hygiene and cleanliness - the most serious issue: for "hygiene" reasons they do not let you fill up water bottles, but the same person who serves breakfast also takes care of clearing the tables and collecting dirty dishes, going back and forth from the adjacent kitchen without gloves. The room cleaning is terrible: in 5 days it was never sanitized, the bed was just made and the floor was quickly vacuumed (time spent on cleaning 5/10 minutes at most). Sheets were never changed and not all shower towels were replaced either. Staff and dog management: we perceived a palpable rudeness, an impression also confirmed by other guests we spoke with. Even though the dog was always carried in our arms when entering and leaving precisely to avoid it making a mess, and taken directly to the street, I was scolded twice with the accusation that it had peed on a pole on the street in front of the property. Only positive note: the proximity to the sea. At over $900 for 5 nights in August, the price-quality ratio is completely inadequate. We do not recommend it and we will not return.

Cute and that's it; breakfast should be a nice moment, but instead it feels like being in a workplace, everyone watching, you have to ask to get food, they even asked me for the same plate to give me more food... screw that...
